What's On Your Workdesk this 484th Wednesday?: the one where I'm not so wordy

Last week I did a NO-NO, giving you a very long post, something Julia, our desker queen at Stamping Ground hopes we will avoid.  Thankfully, she was too busy with REAL problems to notice.  There were lots of questions about sun dyed fabric, and I hope to address them next week when it stops raining on my driveway.

I want to begin with this screen shot I took in hopes any of you computer gurus know how to fix this problem.  It only happens on Mr. Linky blogs, and obviously includes my own blog.  I took this screen shot Monday afternoon when I tried to link my own blog to the link I had created.

It also creates an overlay or darkened screen when it gives the error.  Last week Helen (H) kindly linked me, and I'm hoping she will again this week, since it's obvious I can't.  ANY thoughts on this problem or ways to correct it would be helpful.  Now to my desk.

I am finally back online after a frustrating day spent with a representative/service repair person from AT&T, my internet provider.   I'm trying to prepare for my Second Thursday tutorial by getting everything I need ready.  Wendy is trying to photo bomb the photo, though.

In case you think I just pushed everything aside, I stood on a stool and took this overhead shot.  Everything on the desk, including Wendy, lives here, except the few things I need to create my tutorial.

I suspect many of you came mostly to see the rocking horse this week.  It's in the form of fabric ribbon.  And before you ask, even though I say I have over 460 rocking horses, I only count this as ONE!

Thanks for visiting today.  Your visit is always welcome, even though I can't leave comments to those on some G+ blogs, Instagram, Tumblr, and Facebook.  For everyone else, I'll be by to visit, although it could take awhile because I'm still playing catch up after being offline an entire day.  If you are coming from Julia's, please leave your number.  BTW, I'm still mostly typing with one hand.

Sorry, don't know why you can't link. I have never had any problems with Mr Linky. Perhaps it's because your blog is not secure? To correct that, you can go to design - settings - htttps, but I don't know if it will help with not being able to link. Valerie

hope you get it sorted.. however I have linked you, you are 3.

Sorry Elizabeth, your link up problem has me stumped. Don't give up on WOYWW though. Someone will always link you up so you can join in. Have a great week. Sarah #5

Sorry, I'm a Luddite, so have no idea how anything on the computer works...
Great photos, though!

I don't know, but I hope it's not catching. I see quite a few blogs that say Not Secure. Good Luck and hope you get rid of the things causing the frustration. I had that for weeks with photos...then whala it's working

Sorry to hear about your post issue's Elizabeth, I can only think that maybe something was down at the time, maybe the host server or perhaps an update has kicked in a firewall but i've never seen that before. I have my fair share of comp issues as you know and can only function with the bare bones of this little laptop now.
Hope you get it sorted asap, that rocking horse ribbon is very sweet.
Happy WOYWW Hugs Tracey #4
P.S I'll catch you again later whilst on my catch up run x

Well I turn my back for a couple weeks and you are one handed and standing on stools...neither of which I’m keen to hear! be careful Miss Elizabeth! It’s typical of Wendy to photobomb when you’re in preparation mode. I will be making time to catch up this week, meantime, inevitably I’m afraid, I have no clue as to the message on the computer. Makes you want to swear big time, huh.

I don't know about errors... I always yell when something like that happens and my beloved*slash*webmaster comes running to fix it for me, ha! Hope someone can help you with it 'cause I love to see you online! happy woyww and a big hug from Holland, Marit #18

I admire you for creating tutorials, as I wouldn't know where to start! But please be careful standingon stools etc. Loving your rocking horse ribbon, I've never seen any like that before. I'd need the rocking horses to be turned 90 degrees though so they'd rock horizontally, so to speak!

Hi Elizabeth, and hugs to Bluebeard. Love that ribbon, and the desk shots. It's so annoying when you have no Internet, just shows how much we depend on it now!
Don't know the definite answer, but have you tried Googling for the Error number? That will often bring up a reason & fix.
It's usually something simple, often just involving cookies. We have a program on ours called CCleaner- it's a free download- and using it at least once a week, it clears out any unwanted stuff from Internet browsing. That will often fix any problems.
Good luck with finding the solution,
Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 X

I’ve had problems with logging in to blogger on my iPad this morning....I struggled for over an hour, failed hopelessly, rang my son who fixed it in literally 2 mins!! How frustrating is that?

Happy WOYWW. I had a quick Google and couldn't find anything useful to explain your tech issue. Will try again later. Lovely rocking horse ribbon. I love rocking horses too and have fond memories of the one that my Dad built for me when I was 3! Ali x #21

Sorry cannot help, despite teaching IT at school (what a laugh) I know nothing about computers. Well I can use one but that is it.
Lovely to see your rather busy desk and that fabric ribbon is gorgeous. You really have so many rocking horses? Wow! I knew it was a lot but ...
Sorry about the lack of photos of people from the crop but I figured everyone would post lots so left mine out. Maybe I should go back and intersperse the dialogue with some.
Hugs to you and cuddles to the two fur babies and a special one to Bleubeard.

Wow. You sure do have rocking horses. That is a lot. Good thing you really love them. I like seeing them when you post of Wednesday. And I enjoyed reading your soapbox on my blog comment. We have the same issue here too. Medical marijuana is available if you apply for it, but we have 2 neighboring states where it is legal. We have been trying to get my mother-in-law on the medical form because she is having back issues and isn't helping herself and is truly wasting away from it. I think my mother-in-law is stuck in the old days when it comes to her thinking about it ANyhow, have a super Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

Amended just for you - now two photos on my blog - but not the usual group one as you will have seen the same photo time and time again.

that kind of an error usually occurs with server problems and may have been linked to the problems you are having with your Internet provider. I didn't have any issues on Tuesday using your Mr. Linky to add my T Day post. Looking forward to tutorial.

I do hope you get your error sorted out - how frustrating things like that can be. The rocking horse ribbon is delightful, I am wondering if you will use it or is it part of your RH collection - I have many things that are too precious to use!
Have a good week,

I am hopeless at correcting internet errors - it's so frustrating isn't it. That RH ribbon is fab. Wonder what you will do with it. xx Jo

Oh my goodness, what a huge headache dear Elizabeth and I feel your pain. About 2 months ago, I had connectivity problems that were intermittent for about 45 days, and it really messed with my schedule. I have not heard many good things about AT&T at all, but I hope everything is resolved properly. Your posts are never too long for me because I find them quite interesting. Your desk looks a heck of a lot better than mine, which is a disaster right now(lol) I never tire of knowing there's a genius at work in Kansas. HUGE Hugs...RO

Sorry I can't help with the Linky problem, could you maybe email them for some help. Hope your internet problems are fixed, it's quite a bummer!
So many rocking horses!

When I link, I bring up my blog and click on the title, which just brings up the WOYWW page, then copy all of that that to Mr Linky. Is that what you do too? In the photo it looks like your link just ends at html, but perhaps it goes farther.
Your ribbon is very cute! So nice to have so many things in your collection that you love! You have a very tidy desk today! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #23

I also noticed mine says Not Secure...it appears in the search space, however your blog Altered book Lover says Secure

I have a feeling your work desk won't stay that tidy for long! Wish I could offer ideas on the pop up but I'm clueless.

What a tidy desk - love Wendy trying to photobomb and the ribbon is cute. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week. Caro x (#19)

I haven't had any trouble using your Mr. Linky and don't know what the error is unless it's related to your internet provider issues. I hope it clears up on its own.

And I don't even have a work desk lol, so I can see I'm missing out :)

I find having to click the security link, which I always have to go back to, a bit of a bind but otherwise ...
Love that ribbon, too pretty to use.

Th digital era is a mystery to me I can't even get a grip on my hearing aids. Provider service people always leave more problems than they sole. We have spectrum and all I can it is good neither of us have high blood pressure.
Yes I do read you on Bloglovin but do not comment as I am usually on my cell/mobile. Even with a stylus I seem to write in a foreign script.
Have a great week

I hope the problem with internet is now solved Elizabeth, nevertheless, I can read not secure for your blog, don´t know how it can affect, perhaps you could inform to your server of internet.
Then, your desk is so clean, and I love the horse ribbon, wonderful.
I wish you a very nice afternoon, big hugs, CAty

Hi Elizabeth, sorry to hear about your connection/linking problems. I don't know much about IT - that's very much Mr M's domain. I'll show him later when he gets home. I knew you collected rocking horses, but had no idea you had so many. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I haven't done much colouring, but figure I can only get better with time. Have a lovely week Heather x #11

I loved your rocking horse ribbon and I am wondering what your tutorial may be, not long to find out its nearly Thursday.

Hi Elizabeth. I am REALLY late getting around this week - been so busy hosting Shaz in Oz - but she is now safely tucked up with a friend in America, so I can begin to think...
Do hope someone has helped with that problem - how weird - you have always been able to link up before...
Great ribbon - hope the week has gone well.
Take care. God bless.
