Another AJJ doodle

I'm once again joining my dear friend Chris whose blog is Pear Shaped Crafting.  Her theme is Art for art's sake and she wants us to focus on various techniques which we don't often use.

Once again, this page I created using watercolor pencils took two days to complete, but I finally finished it.

It was removed from a Dover coloring book (probably purchased in the early 2000s).

I was most impressed with the way the eye turned out, although the entire eye was there before I started coloring it.  Again, don't look too closely because you can always tell when my hand is getting tired.

Thanks again for this fun theme, Chris.  I wish I had participated more, because I really love your theme.  Please join Chris, Susi, and me today at Art Journal Journey.   There's still plenty of time to join us, too.

She is amazing Elizabeth, I love that element of intrigue and feel she is just as beautiful behind the mask. I find using pencil so calming and often lose myself in artwork whilst using them. LOVE her.
Wishing you a fabulous weekend Tracey xx
P.S Thank you again for your sweet comment regarding my Vincent piece, I would be honoured to be part of your sidebar (((Hugs))) & Thank you for asking xx

This is awesome, Elizabeth! It’s the kind of tedious work I cannot do, and I’m very impressed by what’s possible for those who can. I as well especially love the eye!

Thank you for visiting my “cotton plantation”! I’ve updated twice, and this morning have a pot full of seedlings only 2 days after planting them. I truly don’t know how they will do in NJ when they have to come indoors for the winter. Here’s hoping!

Wow, the colouring looks beautiful to me and so does all of this wonderful page. I think colouring in something can have real calming effects and the time passes so fast.

I agree with you about the eye. It is amazing. Your colored pencils have the most vibrant colors. Especially how deep the yellow color is. I think this coloring has ben a good lesson on using these colored pencils. :) Hope you have a nice Saturday. Off to visit my daughter today. Hugs-Erika

Love these "doodles". I actually started coloring in a book on butterflies and birds a student gave me after I saw your last examples. It really is very relaxing.

A very impressively face and you coloured it very nice. It looks so good with the wonderful swirls of the hair and the eye looking so real. Well done.

Wow, Elizabeth! You can REALLY draw! This is such a fab face and the hair is absolutely amazing, but what I like best about it is the variation in colour you've managed to achieve. Simply gorgeous. I'm trying to decide if she's feeling spiteful, after revenge, or if she's a little nervous...both would fit that look in her eye... or maybe she's just plain old having fun :-)

Brilliant work and well worth the time you devoted to it.

This is so striking - which of course is about the colours you have chosen and the way she is coloured! I see no sign of you flagging and I thank you so much for stepping out of your comfort zone and colouring this page for my theme! Hugs,Chrisx

That's lovely, Elizabeth! Would you believe I've never tried an adult coloring book yet. I have one but never seem to get around to it.

I'm so sorry for your trouble posting a comment on my website. I had to turn "comment moderation" back on. I was getting bombarded with nasty, disgusting, time wasting spam - 100s every day. Thank you for the lovely comments. They were all waiting for me when I turned on my computer this morning.

Hugs, Eileen
