Allegiance to the UK

Imagine my surprise this morning when I realized I didn't have anything for Friday Smiles.  I still have company for another day, but I woke sick as a dog.   So not only did I not have anything to share, my internet is slow, and my cough has taken over the fun I had planned for the day.

Instead, I decided to join Chris of Pear Shaped Crafting, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.   Her theme is Art for art's sake.

I dug out a piece of Tyvek and two Sharpies.

I cut the Tyvek into three strips and colored two of them.  Next, I created my background using my handmade shimmering mists.

I wove the three colors together

and zapped it with my heat gun, which is a step I wish I hadn't taken.

I don't usually bring politics into my art, but after seeing the way Trump has bullied our allies in Europe and now the UK, I was appalled.

I HAD to stand up for my beliefs.  It reads:
This blogger stands with the UK.
Trump thinks everything is a negotiation he must win.
I deeply apologize for not visiting my blogging friends, but hope this cough, sore throat, and allergies are only temporary.   I am once again grateful and delighted you chose to visit.  I also hope to see you at Art Journal Journey.

Hope you soon feel better Elizabeth. Trump is indeed a bully, and the USA would definitely be better without him. Have a fun weekend, Valerie

Hi Elizabeth, sorry to hear about your cough. I wish you a speedy recovery. I don't know what to say about Trump - words fail me. He's just arrived at nearby Prestwick Airport to stay the night and get in a round of golf - good luck to him with that!! That trick with the heat gun is great - I can't think why you regret it. Have a wonderful weekend. I'll be avoiding Turnberry - it will be overrun with our very expensive security force. Elizabeth x

PS: Your artwork did make me smile :)

I hope you're feeling better by now.

I stand with you. I'm so ashamed at how he's acting :(

I think zapping your detailed addition with the heat gun turned out great and a super page.
I have to say I have turned the channels on the TV if its been anything to do with Trumps visit here to the UK. We are having enough troubles of our own without him adding his comments.
I hope you will be feeling better soon and can enjoy spending time with your guests.

I hope you feel better soon. Bummer.
Trump has always been an embarrassment, but he is also dangerous for our country.

Oh Elizabeth! I love how the Tyvek crumples and this is such a fabulous page and I thank you so much for battling your illness to make this for AJJ and make such a stand against Mr Trump on our behalf! As for THAT man - apart from what he has been trying to interfere with, he stepped in front of our lovely Queen Elizabeth at a photo shoot and she had to step around him...how rude!!! Get well soon and try to enjoy the weekend! Hug,Chrisx

It's a great page Elizabeth, and thanks for your support! Trump does like to poke his nose into other people's business!
Hope you're feeling better,

I love what you did with the Tyvek and heat gun! That would look neat a wall art - larger of course. Very cool. Hugs, Eileen
