Seafood

I'm once again joining Gill at Gibby Froggett Craftations, this month's host at Art Journal Journey.  Her theme is Inspired by . . .  and what could be more inspiring than seafood (unless you are allergic to shellfish, of course).

I created this in my large art journal.   I've included a few detail shots.

I made a mistake when I placed this on the page and got it upside down.  You never would have known had the artist not signed his/her name.

I started with a pink page I adhered to my large art journal, then realized nothing matched the pink background.  That's when I got out my blue handmade shimmering mist and, instead of misting it all over the page, I uncapped the mister and washed the page using a paintbrush.  Then I found magazine images that fit the seafood theme, and went from there.

Thank you for joining me today.

I hope you will join me at Art Journal Journey, too.

Wonderful page. I like fish, but not all the other sea-foods. Have a great day, Valerie

I too love seafood Elizabeth, not had lobster for a long time though. Using the handmade shimmer spray in this way gives an all over sparkle, just like the shimmer of the sun on the sea. Fabulous.
Creative wishes Tracey xx

Fabulous page Elizabeth - I love all the imagery. I could almost smell the salty sea air :) It makes me want to go down by the sea now!

Your page is just fabulous dear Elizabeth and I admit that I like seafood - I really struggled with that in the beginning of my - I will not eat animals from now on- way. I don't eat often fish but if my family gets their "Wiener Schnitzel" and meat at the restaurant or at home I love that I have the opportunity to get fried fish or squid rings beside of just cheese-noodles, especially when the restaurant don't offer any other yummie vegetarian food, what often happens. So I decided to go the "sometimes" on rare occasions - pescetarian way now.
What a fabulous page for AJJ - the images are fabulous and I love how you altered your background in a quick way.
Happy Thursday dear!

Hugs, Susi

I'm with you. Seafood is yummy and one of my favorites. I would never have noticed those oysters were upside down unless you pointed it out. You made a great tribute to some of the best food. :) Hope all is well. Hugs-Erika

I love this and would be neat in a frame for a nautical room. I love seafoods too-mostly fish and shrimp

Love your seafood page. I like the way the images are framed as they make me thing of ocean inspired tiles.

I particularly like the colors and arrangement of the orange lobster on blue stripes and the orange crab over the waves (I'm thinking they are waves.) But they are all intriguing.

Yes I'm on board for seafood as well Elizabeth, although I would have to pass on the oysters. I've never been able to eat them.
I love how you created this fabulous page with all those small interesting pictures. I think I may be buying fish next time I go shopping after seeing this page.

Good evening, do to where we live so rural unless I need basic groceries and fresh foods-I started buying lots online-I can compare shop and I look for free shipping-there is nothing closer than 90 minutes drive one way for craft things etc. I found Amazon is not always the cheapest but I do buy allot from them too-I compare them with ebay and wal mart online.
It is much nicer to hold things in your hands though.
after feeling her eco dye papers-that feel like soft thick cloth-i Knew I just have to try this-you can buy the sheets too but that takes the adventure out of it ha ha

Such a wonderful seaside page! It's such a happy sunshiny page and I love all the images that you used. I have bought home some of the Old Bay Seasoning when we have travelled to America and liked the empty tin so much that it's adorning one of the shelves in my craft room ...lol 😀. Happy Friday and have a great weekend too! J 😊 x

Some years ago in Italy I ordered seafood - the plate came and I was happy not to see exactly WHAT I was eaten :) It smells good.
