Math humor

It's no secret I love math in any form.  I can be inspired by the simplest equations to the most complex.  Therefore, I'm once again joining Gill at Gibby Froggett Craftations, this month's host at Art Journal Journey with her theme Inspired by . . . .

I thought a bit of math humor might be appropriate today.

I don't know why I haven't used these TH paper dolls more often, but I seem to just want to stroke them, rather than use them.  I have 214 (two different packages), minus a few I have used in the past.   It's time to start using them.

Dear Algebra,

Please stop asking me to find your X.

She's never coming back and don't ask Y.

For this page I created in my large art journal, I began with a page from a trigonometry book.  To it, I added the sentiment, two types of washi tape, and the two paper dolls, which took awhile to find, since they needed to be about the same size and the approximate same age.

While I was photographing the journal page in my dining room, Squiggles was rearranging the rocking horses that sit on the floor,  Note he is the one responsible for the tears in the green rug, too.  And to think he looks SO innocent!

I am so happy you joined me today, and I also hope to see you at Art Journal Journey.

Hee hee... oh my Elizabeth what a hoot! I love that Dear John post it note, how I laughed haa haa!!
I have to say there was no love lost between me and Math but my eldest Son always had a thirst for it and carried it on at University studying Maths and Statistics now having a Degree in it.
Looks like Squiggles has been doing a bit of problem solving rearranging those rocking horses!!
Thanks for the giggles this morning, wishing you lots of creativity today.
Hugs Tracey x

Nice to see your beautiful Squiggles.
I'm with Tracey, was never a fan of Maths, but I think that had to do with the way it was taught! Luckily my husband loves Maths and both our kids took after him having degrees that required Maths.
Love the X and Y quote, very funny!

A fun page. Great lady and gent cutouts. Squiggles is so cute. Rearranging the rocking horses and the tears in the green rug, is just his way of making art. Have a Happy Summer Solstice!

Yahoo, I love seeing Squiggles. He is a handsome guy, and maybe not so innocent but he thinks he's just making your life interesting. :) I do adore this page today. I love the math page background and that clever saying about algebra. Hee-hee. Maybe it is better that X is gone because X is always changing their mind what number they will be. Hope it's a great Thursday. Hugs-Erika

That’s really funny Elizabeth! I was good at math but had to work at it. Got a lot of math jokes about my name in school (mostly from teachers). Great picture of Squiggles - kind of reminds me of Sylvester when confronted about the whereabouts of Tweety and a single yellow feather escapes from his mouth (luckily in cartoon word Tweety gets spit out unscathed). I’m saying that innocent look is all an act. :)

This did have me laughing out loud. "Don't ask Y." What a fun page!

Squiggles looks like he means business and will brook no interference. I certainly wouldn't want to stand in his way ;)

I love this page - the little note had me laughing! I'm not so keen on Maths - never did get any point in trigonometry and was moved out of an exam Maths group to an Economics group - far more useful! I do however have a strange penchant for number puzzles as well as facts (such as those surrounding the 9 times table) Hugs, Chrisx
