June is busting out all over

It's time to celebrate all things June.

Let's begin with ICADs (Index Card A Day) for 2018.  I wanted to create a series of hearts when I first started the 365 Challenge back in January, but decided 365 hearts could be too many.  Instead, I will create 61 hearts, this year's Index Cards theme.  Here is Day 1.  From now on, I will share them every Monday, along with my 365 something collages.

Next is my wimpy May calendar.

This month I got a bit carried away with the stickers at the bottom of the calendar.  On the left, I was envisioning the Royal wedding and trying to portray it. The extremely high heels are ones Meghan would wear, the tea is something many British drank while watching the wedding, the hat reminds me of ones the Queen might wear, as is the style purse she might carry.  The flowers represent those covering the arch going into Windsor Castle.

The painted flowers represent what was in my garden this May, and the crosses and flags represent Memorial Day.

June's calendar is ready and waiting to be written in.  I always wait to decorate my calendar page based on events that have occurred that month.

I knew I purchased this lock stamp for a reason, and now was the perfect time to use it.   That's because

I'm joining Wendy, Valerie, and the rest of the DT members at Tag Tuesday with their Locks and Keys theme.   Not exactly how I originally envisioned it when I started, but I pulled out every key stamp I owned for this.

I also ask you "Which key will fit this lock?"

And finally, we have a new host at Art Journal Journey.  It's time to welcome Gill at Gibby Froggett Craftations.

Her theme this month is Inspired by and what could be more appropriate than my first entry I call Hearts and Roses.  This really inspired me!

Two detail shots

show the various elements.

This piece was created in my large art journal.  It includes watercolor crayons, S & H green stamps, a roses image, and computer generated text.

Thanks so much for joining me today as I start my 61 days of Index Cards filled with hearts, share my monthly calendar for May and June, share a tag at Tag Tuesday, and join Gill at Art Journal Journey.  Thank you beyond belief for taking time to visit today.

Lots to see Elizabeth - I always love your calendars and I think you got the style of the Queens hat and bag spot on. I know nothing about ICADs so will have to look into that :) I love LOVE your lock stamp.
And of course I love your AJJ piece which is both very elegant and artsy which is right up my street :) Thanks for the lovely comment you left and I hope I can do AJJ proud this month.
Happy June and have a great day too.
Gill xx

So excited to see your first heart ICAD. I will be joining you in the theme, but mine will double as my 365 Somethings as well. My art has to do double duty this month so I don’t have to! I got a real kick out of your Royal Wedding calendar stickers. And your hearts and roses page is fabulous. I LOVE the hearts you’ve got at the top of the page!

Busy busy indeed..!! Lots of lovelies to look at and what a bargain that lock stamp was. I love the idea of 365 ICADS but I would never be able to sleep worrying if I wasn't able to create the next days worth. Look forward to seeing how you progress.
Happy June Hugs Tracey xx

Beautiful art work, as alway. I especially loved the Hearts & Roses. But I like the keys and lock, too. It's incredible the effects you get. BTW, looking beyond your stickers to the scrawled messages on May, your calendar looks like my calendar. I've taken to putting my lists of what I need to do on my calendar, since I often mislay my post-it notes. :-)

So much pretty art today my friend. And I happen to like all the stickers on your calendar bottom for May. It frames the calendar. Plus hearts-who doesn't like hearts? Well, at least I like them. :) Hope June starts off in a good way for you. Hugs-Erika

What could be lovelier than hearts?! Looking forward to following along. My favorite entry on your May calendar was “buy new wind chimes”. Life is so much better with wind chimes! I have three in my back yard. I appreciate your comment on my blog paper-making post. I was moved to reply at length, and when I finished I had no email address to send it to! It’s too long for posting here. Is there an address I can send it?

I just love your beautiful journal page with the hearts and roses, a gorgeous background for the rose card, looking at the page makes me think should they have been real roses they would have had a lovely perfume.
The lock and keys tag is also great, I would have to say that one of the more ornate vintage type keys would perhaps fit, not modern ones, as it looks a super antique lock.
I think you will be busy again this month the Heart index card looks super for your upcoming challenge.

Looking forward to seeing your ICAD challenge. Your month was very busy and I like the stickers you chose to represent the Royal wedding. I like the lock and key stamps. Hearts and roses is the perfect combo for June. The S&H stamps gave me a chuckle. Ma used to collect those although I never remember her trading them in. Enjoy your day

I still remember keys like that at my grandparent's house, they were so beautiful.

Beautiful artwork! I love how you captured the royal wedding on your calender and your new look stamp looks gorgeous in that teal ink 😁. Who could not be inspired by hearts and flowers for Gill's fabulous theme, such a lovely choice! Wishing you a Happy Weekend! J 😊 x

Great post! Love all the keys! But the main thing I have to say, is at first I thought your May calendar page was June, and I was so impressed that you had it all filled in! Then I saw your June. Page and felt better. My hubby just reminded me I have to make a card for our granddaughter’s birthday the 22nd and we have to mail early, because she will be gone 2 weeks on a mission trip! I had forgotten we have to mail it early! So , I am already behind in June on the first! S&H stamps? You still have some! So impressed! Happy first day of June. Lovely projects!

I love the Royal extras on your calendar page! You know how I do so love that you decorate your page on events as they occur! Thank you for your kind comments about mine - it wouldn't do if we were all the same!!! Hugs, Chrisx
