A flower knows

I'm once again joining Jo at Let's Art Journal, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.  The theme she has chosen is flora and fauna.   And because the page fits their flower theme, I'm also joining Moo-Mania & More.

I love butterflies and this seems to be the perfect time to bring them out.

Below are a few close-ups.

The sentiment reads "A flower knows when its butterfly will return."

For this page I created in my large calendar journal, I began with a piece of my shaving cream paper, over which I sewed the focal image, the sentiment I colored using water soluble crayons, a bit of shimmering misted algebra paper, and a piece of yellow paper also misted with handmade shimmering mist.  Once the assembly was on the page, I framed the image with two pieces of hand turmeric dyed lace using two variegated threads.

Thank you for sharing time with me today where you will also find me at Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania & More.  I hope to see you both places, too.

What a glorious page! I love all the elements you used with your lovely shaving foam paper, hand tumeric dyed lace, algebra paper, beautiful butterfly & daisy image and wonderful sentiment 😁. Those water soluble crayons and mists are such a bright sunshiny yellow and bringing them all together with the stitching looks amazing too! Thanks so much for another fabulous page for Art Journal Journey and Happy Sunday! J 😊 x

Great page! in answer, I don't know, but assume they propagated the plants from the ones they removed; and replaced only the biggest, tree ferns etc and replanted the new small ones from the rest.

This is out of this world BEAUTIFUL! I am totally in awe of this page dear Elizabeth!
I am most impressed with how you brought all the parts together in such a fantastic way!
I wanted to let you know that the crayons I sent you are also watersoluble. They are watersoluble oilpastels. I forgot to mention that yet. Maybe you want to have a look at the tips you can find on Youtube- just look after Portfolio watersoluble oilpastels there. There are really fab instructions.
I am so happy to see this amazing page not just at AJJ but also at Moo Mania & More!
Thank you my dear Co.-Admin!
Happy Sunday!
Hugs, Susi

A lovely, ethereal page. Love the color of the butterfly and the way the lace trim echoes the markings on the butterfly's wings.
