Wednesday wonders: Postage stamps

I wanted to have a post on postage stamp art, but there were simply no photos available through Pexels on this topic.  So here is what I found on postage stamps.

Thanks so very much for your visit today.  Even though the photos all came from Pexels, the concept was inspired by my postage stamp collecting friend Pamela who can be found at Cappuccino and Art Journal.  Please visit her blog and you'll want to make mail art using old postage stamps, too!  Don't forget.  Your blog might be the next Wednesday wonders inspiration.

I'll leave you with a quote from Pamela:
SEND GOOD MAIL -- GET GOOD MAIL

I never really collect stamps, but they seem to pile up in boxes here, I can't bear to throw them away! Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie

Nice stamps today. I do like postage stamps. They themselves are little pieces of art and history too. And even better, you can use them in your art. :) My page tomorrow has some. These are cool views and nice idea for a photo post. Happy Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

My late father in law was a professional stamp collector-we always urged him to write a book as his knowledge was astounding but he never did. so I respect and love stamps more because of him.
I enjoyed the photos you found

I'm always intrigued by the different pictures on stamps, the range of stamp art. It really is art. I've never collected them, but I've also been intrigued by the idea that some collections are worth tons of money because of the rarity of certain stamps.

Catching up with your posts. I'm interested in using some postage stamps in mixed media. I always try to use commemorative stamps when I have them so others can see the designs.
