365 Day Art Challenge: Week 1

I saw this project on my friend Cindy's blog.  Cindy referenced a post by Hanna at i Hanna.  Hanna says we don't need to create art every day for this project, but can do several at a time.  So for the first week, I decided to cut all the pages to size I would need for this project.
I was inspired by Cindy's daily hearts. Originally, I considered also doing hearts, which I’m sure will creep into my daily art, anyway. But after seeing Hanna's collages, I want to try making them, too. It will definitely reduce the amount of collage fodder I seem to have collected over the years and I’ll be able to make art in the process.

I will post every Monday morning for the previous week.  All of my collages are 4" X 4" (10,16 cm X 10,16 cm).

Past Tense
It's been too cold to stay in the rest of the house, so the two cats and I have been camping out in the office.  I decided to start with what I had close at hand by creating this journey into the past.  Hopefully in a few days I'll be able to find more collage fodder.  Right now, you can see how I feel about this weather.

Winter Blues
I'm so blue
Once in a blue moon
The heart of winter
Waiting for spring
Dreaming of summer
Thanks for joining me today.  If you are playing in Hanna's 365 Something project, please let me know and I will be by to see what you are making.  Please let me know if you like any of these.  As always, I am very grateful for your continued support of my art.  However, you don't have to tell me, I just noticed I really need to clean my scanner!

that's quite a challenge you have set yourself! I know I am doing the FB journal challenge but that doesn't involve a finished piece a day.... good luck! (and in reply to your comment, I won't not be buying new stuff this year, just want to use up some of the old stuff too!)

Have fun with the new challenge, and I hope it won't be too much stress getting something done every day. Collage is always good for using up scraps.
Have a good start in the new week, hugs, Valerie

I like the Heart of winter and Waiting for spring collages.
Hopefully it will warm up on your side of the world Elizabeth, no fun having to be cooped up indoors.

I really like your abstract blue collages. I just love minimal and abstract art and these are lovely with the different shades. I like the 1967 collage too! That album is one of my faves. Congrats on being creative every day. That's fabulous... and a lot of fun too no doubt. :)

Hello Elizabeth, Bleubeard and Squiggles. I hope your office is warmer than here.
Collages - oh yes, I too have been playing at making collages, it must be in the air. Every day collages - that sounds a good idea to produce a lot of interesting work. What do I like best here? - "I'm so blue" and "Waiting for Spring".
Happy New Year to all three of you.

I love the various blues and your styling with the mini houses that are punched out. The winter snowflake in the heart is inventive. Let’s see what else will be created...can’t wait.

Well I like them all! I”m really glad you are playing along and that you enjoyed the first week - maybe it took your mind off the cold a little bit, but maybe not as most of the names of these collages seem to revolve around the weather! My two favourites are I’m so blue - I really like the variety of shapes and tones in this piece, and those little house shapes - and “Dreaming of Summer” - the colours and arrangement of the patterns really caught my eye. It’s been a great first week!
