T Stands For Celebrating the Ordinary

For T day

I'm joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda, our wonderful host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Let's Celebrate.

Today we are celebrating

the ordinary.   Things we take for granted,

like a cup of hot coffee,

even if this is black and I drink mine white.  Of course, if coffee isn't your cup of cappuccino, any drink that you enjoy will suffice.

For this spread I created in my Challenges altered book, I started with a background I created during a Second Thursday Tutorial using twinkling H2Os and bubble wrap.  The sentiment was written with a white Gelly Roll pen.   I added a bingo card, a heart button, a fussy cut cup of coffee from a magazine, and washi tape.  I added three strips of washi tape, and covered one when I added the coffee cup.  So much for thinking ahead!

Now it's your turn to share something amazing.  It can be the ordinary or extraordinary as long as a drink of some kind is involved.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, teabags, scrapbooking, or any other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Bleubeard wants to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time.

And thanks for joining Sheila, Susi, and me at Art Journal Journey, too.

UPDATE:  Your host has been absent and trying to play catch-up.  Earlier today a transformer blew about six blocks from my house.   Both my internet and electricity were offline most of the afternoon.   Now my keyboard is acting up.  I can't win!

Love the whole idea of Celebrating the Ordinary !! Your page reminds me of days spent playing Bingo with my best friends mother. She love the game and we would take her every week and she would get so excited when she "BINGO"-ed!!! She had her own little Bingo dance. Thanks for reminding me of the precious memory !

Wonderful page! The details are lovely with the sparkly background you created, the bingo card and little wooden heart 😀. I love the thought behind this page too, celebrating ordinary things and making a conscious effort to be thankful for them makes such a positive difference to how we approach life - perfect 😁. Wishing you a very Happy T Day my friend! J 😊

That's a lovely page you made there. But I really like the thought of celebrating the ordinary. And although it (Black coffee) indeed is not my cup of capuccino (especially now I am ill), you got the meaning across beautifully.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Always fun when the ordinary becomes extraordinary. You captured that on your page.

I have such fond memories of playing bingo with my Aunt... She was a bingo fanatic ... she went several times a week and played so many boards at one time it was crazy... she was a SERIOUS player... just stay out of her way... lol She might give you a board or two to play on your own if you were lucky...lol You'd think that attitude would put me off as a kid but i found her fascinating.. lol And so big when she would trust me with that board or two.. Love your journal page Elizabeth.. and i take mine white too..lol with sugar.. two lumps.. Happy T day! Hugs! deb

I like your Bingo page with this interesting background! First I thought this coffee cup stands REALLY on the page, then I read it is glued down, what a 3D-effect!
Happy T Day!

Celebrating ordinary is a really good idea, we do take so much for granted in our lives. I think its the constant rush, with no pause for thought that is the culprit to making us pass by the meaningful ordinary things in our lives.
Anyway, your page is fantastic Elizabeth and the background does sparkle.
Happy T day wishes.

Finally getting a chance to comment. This is a wonderful page. The ordinary is the best, isn't it? I know there are days we don't think so, but if you look past the mundane details, it is what makes our lives and what we chose. At least usually what we chose. Have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

We should all remember to celebrate the ordinary. I like your answer to the challenge. The heart button is just the perfect highlight to the page.

Celebrating the ordinary is, I think, one of the keys to happiness :) I haven't played Bingo in decades, but I remember it being fun, and your offering of black coffee will suit me fine :)

So much for thinking ahead - lol. Happens to us all. If you hadn't told us, we never would have known ;-)

You have an altered book just for challenges?! I like that idea. My challenge pieces are all over the place.
