An early Christmas gift

I have been given a wonderful early Christmas gift.  Susi asked me to co-administrate Art Journal Journey.  It's a real privilege and honor and it took me about three minutes to accept this awesome position.

Now I'm not used to art journaling, preferring altered books where I don't necessarily have to write words.  But this is a great opportunity for me, and a chance to expand my horizons.

So today, I'm joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda with her theme Let's Celebrate.

To honor Sheila's theme, I went to my mailbox and found this adorable creature.

It was part of a postcard inviting me to celebrate the season.

I think you can see why I hate my handwriting.

Of course, if you overlook that, you will see how adorable that darling giraffe is.

This is a page for Art Journal Journey that I created in my Challenges altered book.  Please join Susi, Sheila, and me there today and any day with your art journal, altered book, large pages, digital art, or canvases where Let's Celebrate this month.

And for those of you unfamiliar with Art Journal Journey, or AJJ, please be aware that no tags, ATCs, postcards, or cards are allowed unless they are part of a larger piece that is at least 10,5 x 14,5 centimeters or 4 x 6 inches.

Hello Elizabeth,
Your giraffe made me laugh because he is so serious and is wearing red spectacles and a Santa hat.
I hope he starts smiling soon and starts celebrating this wonderful month.
We're going to have a good time this month, aren't we!
Is Bleubeard going to make something too?
I'm also sending love to Squiggles but I don't think he does any artwork, but he could help with the administrating maybe?
love
Sheila

AJJ sounds like fun. You'll do a great job as co-administrator. Your giraffe in his/her Santa hat is enough to make a Grinch grin. I love your handwriting. It's alive and shows a real person behind it.

That is a wonderful image Elizabeth! What a find. Love the junk mail! At my old townhouse some of my neighbours put signs up for the letter carrier to say they didn’t want junk mail - can you imagine? As to your handwriting it looks fine to me. Also, an art journal page does NOT require words (unless the challenge stipulates that it does). Looking forward to seeing your other pages this month. What a great idea to have a co-host during this busy time of year.

Congratulations Elizabeth, its exciting news from AJJ, its one of my favourite sites in blogland.
I love this fantastic, festive fun page and it looks like the celebrations have already begun, judging by the great expression on this party animals' face.
