12 Days

I'm once again joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda, our wonderful host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Let's Celebrate.   And because this is definitely Christmas themed, I'm also joining Moo-Mania & More.

Today I'm celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas with this spread I made in my new art journal.   I think I'm going to like this one because it's large and I like working in large books.

I probably shouldn't have scanned this because the glitter and beauty of the piece is lost on the scanner.

There certainly are a lot of birds in the first few days of this song.

For the background, I used blue acrylic craft paint.  To that I added a deconstructed Christmas card that I surrounded with my glittery washi tape.  Then I printed and colored the sheet music using Staz-on and alcohol ink.  I added a bit of washi tape to that, too.  To complete the piece, I added plastic snowflakes.

I am very grateful you visited today.  And I hope you will also join me at Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania & More.  I appreciate your visits more than you possibly know.  And it's now time to count down to Christmas.

Such a festive page. The blue looks so good with the white dove and glitter. If I were gifted the items in the song, I would have been happier with the 60 gold rings (5 per day for 12 days) and not to clean up after all the birds and people. =^,.^= Have a very merry!

It is a beautiful festive page with dove bringing peace. I loved all the glitter as well. I smile every time I listen to the music and words of the 12 days of Christmas, remembering how we used to sing it with the children in school and do the actions as well. Happy memories.
Wishing you a Happy Festive Holiday Elizabeth and hope that the coming year will be a good one for you.

I'm a glitter fan, so this page is really appealing to me! Now you've reminded me that I have not heard that song yet this holiday season. With all the Christmas songs playing, somehow I've missed hearing that one. I haven't hear the chipmunks either, and that's ok.

You make very good use of old Christmas cards. I can see why you picked this one though. The dove is gorgeous. I really like the blue too. And the sparkles. OK, I just really like this page. You know I found this little 12 days of Christmas stamp set in my holiday stash that I forgot I have had for like a decade and I was thinking the same thing about all the birds. I guess birds must have been a precious commodity back when the song was written. This is worth a look up I think. Have a wonderful weekend and happy holiday too. Hugs-Erika

Oh these blues are lovely, so deep and so blue. The sparkle and glitter show up well on my screen. Nice idea to use the Christmas card dove and the washi tape works so well with the blues. Pretty snowflakes too.
Happy Christmas to you and the boys.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth, for supporting my theme at AJJ so enthusiastically and artistically.
love, Sheila

Wow! I love this, not just for the sparkle but for the beautiful dove and that clear bright blue which although you are showing the twelve days of Christmas reminds that one day we will have a blue sky again! The sun did try so hard to shine through the clouds today so It was a little brighter for a while! A really lovely page with a message of peace! Hugs, Chrisx

I think that one lovely glittery dove is much better than the scads of birds in the song ;) Happy Eve of Christmas Eve!

Oh this is so beautiful and festive Elizabeth and the world needs a Dove of peace right now too.
(I will be huumming that song now - although I get confused towards the later days and can never remember what day each should be ha ha.
Merry Christmas
