Zip It!

Today I'm joining Chris from PearShapedCrafting who is this month's host at Art Journal Journey.  Chris wants us to give her 101 ways to stay warm, so this is my first thought this month.

And because I added circles to the page, I am also including Try it on Tuesday with their Circles theme.

The woman was difficult to photograph

and  I never got a good photo of her zippered jacket.

My advice is to keep your outer gear zipped up,

wear a hat and gloves (or mittens as the case may be), and layer, layer layer.  It works in art and it works when you are dressing, too.

For this spread, I began by laying down two colors of blue craft paint, then added the image I found in a skiing magazine.  Next, I added the circles and allowed them to dry, then added the glittery snowflakes inside the circles.  Finally, I added the sentiment using a white pen.

Today is a chilly Day 3 and I am joining Leah at AEDM, as well as Art Journal Journey, and Try it on Tuesday.  Hope to see you at these places and thanks for visiting here, too.

What a colourful journal page, I'm sure chopping wood makes you warm! Thanks so much for joining us at TIOT, too. Have a fun day, Hugs, Valerie

how cool. Love what you did. It is very hard to photograph magazines so I think you did a great job for staying warm :)

Smart idea. Two challenges too! I'm working on a couple of pages that hopefully this weekend I can finish them up. I took time to clean up my art space and been doing some yard clean up so that cut into my time. I like your page though, but I don't want to think about snow and that cold temperature yet. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika

Too early to even think about snow and cold weather. I'm thoroughly enjoying the unseasonably warm weather she said putting her finger in her ears and singing la, la, la..

Love the Zip It. Makes me think of Ma yelling at me to zip my jacket. Though now that I am considerably older, maybe the unzipped jacket has to do with hot flashes =^,.^=

While I don't like the snow, I love the brilliant blue of your background and the sparkly snowflakes inside the circles. Yes, snow belongs on top of mountains, on Christmas cards, and insides snowglobes.

Wow! Thanks for this fabulous entry for Art Journal Journey, not only that, but those circles make such an impact in the background and it is perfect for Try It On Tuesday too! Bravo Elizabeth! I used to have to tell my GD to fasten her coat when we used to pick her up from school in the Winter! Oh! and great eye candy too! (it's OK, T isn't looking!!! ) Hugs, Chrisx

so great to be reminded of old friends every November! Great spread - glossies are really hard to shoot. I try to get them in morning light, because there's just no way at night! What a fun thing to particpate in - certainly takes the "now what am I going to create" problem out the window!

Its a fabulous page, the couple should be quite warm gathering the logs.
I think maybe she has a good idea just to sit and watch him doing all the work, I hope she has a few layers under her jacket.

Even though I don't want to think about cold weather and snow I love your beautiful pages! And not just do I love this great collaged pages I love to see them linked to Try It On Tuesday and AJJ at once!
I am late today, was at a flea market with a friend and invited to delicious fish soup for lunch. Hope it is not too cold at your area - we had a nice sunny day here. I even did some gardening out in the sun in the afternoon.

Great idea and I love how you used the magazine images and created that cool snowy background too 😁. The "Zip it!" sentiment made me smile as this expression can be used to tell someone to "shut up" (stop talking) too ...lol 😉. Wishing you a Happy and warm November! J 😊

I like your words about "layer, layer layer. It works in art and it works when you are dressing, too." Layers keep you warm indeed, and layers make the page interesting! Wonderful idea "Zip it" and a beautiful blue!

Well, this couple must be warm enough because they sure do look happy:). Love the vibrant blue background and how it shows off the image.
We had another 73 degree day yesterday although only the day before it was only in the 40's. Crazy weather...
