Vacation Day (not 2nd Thursday tutorial day)

I fear I've been caught off guard and haven't even thought about creating a 2nd Thursday Tutorial.  I will have one ready by next Thursday, though.

Instead, I'm once again joining Chris from PearShapedCrafting who is this month's host at Art Journal Journey.  Chris wants us to give her 101 Ways to Stay Warm.

And because this is also all about the beautiful women in the picture, I'm also joining Moo-Mania & More with their Make it Feminine theme.

I suggest the best way to get out of the cold

is to take a vacation day, find a great warm beach, or visit the Caribbean.

Find some beautiful women or people to celebrate with,

dig our toes in the sand, appreciate your time from sunrise to sunset,

and warm your cold bones.

For this spread, I began by painting a sunrise (or maybe sunset) background, which I promptly and unfortunately covered with the focal image (found in a magazine) once it was dry.  I added cheesecloth at the top and bottom, three shells, and computer generated text (it's odd how my spell checker in my word processing program corrected how I spelled Caribbean).

This is Day 9 of AEDM, and I am checking in with Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania & More.  Thanks, also for stopping by.  I always appreciate your visits.

I could go for the Caribbean right now. Just sit on the beach, sleep late, read. I've been fighting a head cold and man, not really in the work mode. Love your page and the lady who looks like she is celebrating Carnival. It's very inspiring. :) happy Thursday. Hugs-Erika

I think we're finally getting cold weather (if the heat coming on is any indication) - and truthfully, I'm ready for it! 80 degrees in November is just not right.

Love this - it is very joyful, and all the mixed media is wonderful!

Your page is the perfect warm and bright spot for my week. We got a dusting of snow yesterday. Much too early for cold and snow. So, yes, please book me on your Caribbean tour. My bags are packed.

Your page makes one want to travel to those exotic islands.
On my side of the world, it's been very hot, in fact on the news it was announced it's been the warmest November in 120 years!!
Temperatures have been around the 29-31C (84-88F).

While your artwork is amazing as ever, believe it or not, I'm not a fan of hot weather. Very strange considering I was born in August. So if I had my way, an Alaskan cruise would be my vacation choice, along with tacos, cheeseburgers, and a ton of books. (lol) Right now, the weather is hovering between the 40's and 50's, so I'm doing the happy dance! Happy Thursday night! Hugs...

Oh yeah, let's dancing ans imagining to be in the Caribic. That's a famous way against the cold and grey... Thank you :)
And: thank you for your visit and lovely comment.
By the way: I have always two challenges: make matching colors not only in one picture, but it should be matching to the colors of my previous post. When you scroll through my blog, you can see: I'm a woman of color-rhythms (not alway successful, but I try)...
Have a colorful sunday
