T Stands For Thanksgiving

This is a story of Thanksgiving, but it's actually a tale of mugs, cups, glasses, and drinks.

As soon as we arrived, I took a photo of the meal that was in progress.

Hot apple cider, which I passed on, was first on the agenda.  Scott and his family were catching up on the latest gossip.

Scott's sister dancing to Christmas music.

By now the water and a few of the side dishes were on the table.

Scott's sister (Trish) and his aunt (Marsha) putting more items on the table, while I take photos.

I took this photo of the mashed potatoes, because I thought it was funny.  I have a warped sense of humor, but I've never seen potatoes in a bowl like that before.

Nearly time to eat.

A few shots around the table

and I catch Trish in the mirror.

It wasn't all fun and games, though.  Not yet, anyway.  Scott was busy chopping firewood, while I THOUGHT the dog was looking on.

I wanted a rear shot of both Scott and the dog, but didn't realize what the dog was doing until after the fact.

I want some raised beds like these, but I can't afford the pavers that Trish and Bobby (her husband) bought and installed.

As evening set in, I went out and took this photo.  I can see why people like to take sunset photos.  I could NEVER get a photo like this at home.  Too many houses and dead end streets for a clear and beautiful shot like this.

The reflection in the glass was incredible.

I got a bit carried away.

I took 21 shots of the moon, but there was a haze or something around it.

This was the best I could get from the deck.

A fitting end to the day, as others were drinking beer or mixed drinks, while Scott and I continued to drink coffee during game night.  Lots of card games, and lots of laughs.  Afterward, we had a long drive home, while the others were there for the night.

Now it's your turn to share a drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, teabags, scrapbooking, or any other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time.

And please don't forget to dig up your Second on the 2nd post.  It's one you have shown before.  Any genre, any post will be acceptable, as long as it was published sometime in the past.

Forgot to mention, this is Day 28 of AEDM and I hosted a drink related link-up party.

Looks like a wonderful Thanksgiving. Those mashed potatoes were amusing stacked up to look like a triangle sculpture. No hot apple cider for me either....xox

Looks like a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was so impressed with how clean and orderly the kitchen was. My kitchen was such a wreck. The table setting was lovely, and I laughed at the mashed potatoes. They looked like the potatoes Roy was sculpting to look like the Devil's Tower in Wyoming in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I guess I have a warped sense of humor, too. The sunset pictures were very beautiful especially the reflection in the car window. Looked like the end of a perfect day. Happy T Day!

I can see why this is your favourite holiday - it looks a very relaxed affair wth none of the hassle of wrapping paper to clear away!! Scott's family live in a lovely place and I love the raised beds! Hmmm…not so sure about the rear shots but the sunset is wonderful! Hugs, Chrisx

oh what a perfectly lovely Thanksgiving! A pyramid of mashed potatoes-very creative:)
And oh what beautiful sunsets!! I know what you mean-we have homes all around us (and pretty close) along with many large trees so it isn't the best of viewing.
Thanks for sharing your special holiday time, and happy T day!

Is this the same house you went to last Thanksgiving? I remember it being a beautiful place. Looks like a nice crowd and I agree the mash potato mountain looks kind of unique. But if they tasted good, that's all that counts. And what a sunset. It looks beautiful there. And game night sounds fun...we did that last Thanksgiving but this year it was tv night. Just as good though since we watched almost a whole season of Stranger Things on Netflix, which I found out today is what probably 50% of the kids at school did over the weekend too. I fit right in. :) Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

You had a wonderful Thanksgiving as I can see - Scott has a nice family - amazing photos - you got very good pics and that raised beds look really good. We would have enough stones for buliding beds already - hubby bought stones three years ago as our friend works in a stone pit neaarby, but not so much free place in our garden for such beds - I have to mangage to get the best place for at least one raised bed . I fear I could not send stones to you as a gift ... too much
mail charges-lol.
Happy T-Day -- I admit - I love Baileys.....

Picture perfect Thanksgiving. Happy friends, lovely home, lots of good food and drink. The sunset shots you took are beautiful. There is something about that red gold color coming through the trees that makes you want to take out the camera isn't there? Thanks for sharing your day with us.

I am glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Thank you for hosting this link up..I love your sunset shots, I think some of the best sunsets happen when it is cold outside :-) My blog post shared in this link up relates to cups and tea sets people drink from, I hope that is okay..

Your Thanksgiving looks really terrific -- I love the dishes on the table! And the mashed potatoes! Seems like work is always involved on TG -- and maybe that's OK! The dog shot had such potential.

It all looks wonderful, Elizabeth. I'm glad it was so happy. And thanks for coming by to check out ours!

Well it looks like you had a fabulous Thanksgiving~ Those potatoes did look funny in the bowl..lol Gorgeous house though..love the fireplace.. Maybe you could buy those pavers a few at at time... You'd be surprised how quickly they would add up.. I've often had to buy things that way... Gorgeous sunset photos and I've never been able to get clear moon shots either... Happy T day! Hugs! deb

What great photos..
Seems like you had fun.
And those sunset pics! wow! The reflection in the window looks like a painting.
Those raised beds are really nice...I once made a patio for a large table and four chairs in my front yard, by purchasing the blocks and wood, little by little because they were too expensive to get all at once.
Have you looked on Craigslist for supplies?

Glad you had a good time.
