T Stands For Thai Bistro

Today I'm sharing a post from this summer when my foodie friend Sally and I went to a place called Sit @ Thai Bistro.

It was mid-afternoon and the lunch crowd had gone, but it was too early for the dinner crowd to arrive.

It gave me a chance to take a few photos of the beautiful real plants.

There were eight pages, six of them with items and prices.

The other two showed photos of what I assume were their more popular meals.

Although we asked for lemon, we never got it with our water.

Sally ordered a pork dish and I ordered a vegetarian dish.  Unfortunately it came with chicken.  Although I tried to eat around the chicken, I ended up giving my meal to Sally.  Even the rice was bland.  I admit Sally enjoyed her meal a lot more than I enjoyed mine.

When we paid, I took a few photos of the animals that reminded me of the zoo.  Granted, although I asked why the meal was supposed to be vegetarian, but came with  chicken, I couldn't make any of the wait staff understand me.  I finally gave up and vowed to not return again.

Now it's time to share your drink related post this week.  It can be photos, a place you visited, an empty cup, glass, or teapot, movies, videos, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken at any time, and don't even have to be taken this year!

That restaurant would not be on my calling list again.
Although Sally's meal looked really delicious.
There is no excuse for serving chicken with a vegetarian meal, I'm afraid I would have been making a fuss at the table when it was served and for sure not paying as I didn't get what I ordered.
But, the real issue would be the non English speaking staff, I can really appreciate why you gave up trying to make them understand.
Happy Tea day wishes.

Though your meal looked delicious, sorry it wasn't to your liking. And too bad no lemon in the water though that might have been a blessing after I saw an article about how germy restaurant lemons are. The decor is very nice. Loved those blue and white dishes and the orchids stunning. Too bad the service wasn't better.

I love Thai food and it can be delicious as I'm sure you know, but it's too bad this one wasn't that. I guess the language barrier got in the way with the chicken. Maybe that's why it was so empty even though it was one of those odd food hours. Sorry to hear about your food. But Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

How disappointing, Elizabeth. Thai food can be great, but language disconnects are not! I wrote about one today as well for today's party.

Sometimes language disconnects are funny. As when my hubby ordered "camiones" (trucks) rather than "camerones" (shrimp). The waiter was great. He reminded me of the waiter in "Pretty Lady" when Julia Roberts sent the escargot sailing across the table.

Happy T-day. Hugs, Eileen

How sad that they didn't even speak English well enough to understand an order. I wouldn't go back, either.

Sad they did not understand what vegetarian means... normally I enjoy Thai food on occasion. I too would have been very disappointed. Restaurants can be so hit and miss. I will say that the bright fuschia colored orchid is stunning! TFS and happy T day!

Well at least the plants were beautiful... hate it when the orders aren't right.

The restaurant looked so promising too with the marvellous decor and plants 😁. What a disappointment, it's a shame they didn't understand what vegetarian was. Wishing you a very Happy T Day dear Elizabeth! J 😊

That orchid is beautiful. Sorry the place turned out to be a disappointment. Communication seems to have been the problem with both your meal and the lemon. Thanks for thinking of during these NoCA fires. We're fine but I can't really watch the news, just brings our loss all back.

The food looks good. I'm sorry they didn't seem to understand what "vegetarian" means. I guess it's the kind of place that makes no changes. "Take it or leave it". I've never had Thai food.

That's the pits that you didn't enjoy your food all that much, Elizabeth. I'm a spice gal, so I need to have the flavors on my food. Those animals look pretty neat though, and I'll be it was fun to hang out with your friend for a little while. Hugs...RO

Nicely decorated but it sounds like a frustrating experience. Chicken on the veggie plate? Well, that makes no sense whatsoever. I wouldn't be inclined to return too quickly.

Not sure why you can't see the pics on my post...I did link up using my phone...do maybe I didn't do something right. But other commentors seem to be able to view them. Sorry for the problem...hope it can be fixed, but I won't be home in Ohio for a week! Thanks for the heads up...

It's certainly an attractive place, and the table set up with ice water (no lemon!) is inviting. But the "chicken surprise" was a let down for sure. The meal was nicely presented, but still... the chicken. Too bad, because it looks like a place I'd want to visit more than once.

So sorry Elizabeth about your meal-it is really sad to me when people just do not listen-I go through the same thing with gluten free we rarely eat out any more. Your friends dish looked really delicious though
Happy T Day Kathy

Well, I'm finally getting my return visits made.....what a week!
Sorry to hear your meal was not as advertised, does make one wonder what they think is vegetarian.
I was surprised that the flowers were real, beautiful!
Belated T-day wishes......almost time to post again....sheeeeesh!!!
