September, 2017 nearly complete and October ready to write in

Since I never write in my calendar until late in the evening, I wanted to get this on my blog.  I assure you, it will be filled out before I turn the page.  I really miss my Micron pen.  It was the really black one I used often.  My decorations are laughable again this month.  I used some autumn stickers to decorate the page.  Yes, I know.  I'm a wimp when it comes to these calendar pages!

Although I got a little sloppy scanning this page, at least you can see it is ready to write in.

And because my calendar pages are nothing to write home about, I thought I would include a final Art Journal Journey entry.  My dear friend Yvonne of Meggy's Way was the host this month and her theme has been Colo(u)r in my World.  She has been an excellent host, too.

I've started a new journal and was so lucky when an art friend dropped by and sketched in the flowers for me.  I already had the background started, and I colored the flowers after she left.  I used both oil pastels and watercolor crayons.  The background was paint.  I free handed the bird after she told me the bird was just an "S" shape.  Not sure I got it right, but I tried.  I used two Sharpies on the grosgrain ribbon that I stuck down using white glue that bled into the paint and ribbon.

And for the first time in several months, I've made enough Art Journal Journey pages to create a mosaic for the month of September.

Thank you for joining me today as I shared my monthly calendar you will only see on this blog, and my Art Journal Journey entry and a review of all the pieces I made for AJJ this month.

I love your fantastic journal page Elizabeth, the background paint colours are bright happy ones today. It is a good tip as well about the S...shape for the bird. I am absolutely no use at free hand drawing.
It was good to see all your wonderful AJJ pages together, you have been so supportive this month.
I had a big smile when I read your comment to me about 'colour', after all these years I will never change from the English way of spelling this word, even though my computer has a hissy fit every time I spell it out, I have three red underlined words already in this message to you.
Your calendar pages look great as well, the small pictures really add brightness and give extra detail.
Have a Happy Saturday.
Yvonne xx

My goodness, to have an entire calendar filled in with stuff screams busy, Elizabeth.(lol) It's cool to have friends come over to help with some of the artsy stuff. I'm not artist, and in fact, I'm trying to find a way to get you here to lend your artsy skills(lol), but I try to work on my Planner every day. So I spend a lot of time trying to find inexpensive unusual Washi Tape or stickers to decorate each month. I really enjoy looking at your Art Journal and the things you come up with to decorate. So cool. Happy Saturday! RO

Well this last day of September is quite chilly and rainy. Your red page warms me up.
Frost warnings for northern Maine tonight. Fall has officially arrived. Time to put the
garden to bed. xox

I have trouble keeping up with calendar pages so think your pages are brilliant. So fun to collaborate on a journal page. You got your bird more than right. You nailed it and your bird is charming. I love how all your journal pages form a quilt.

I can't believe it's calendar time already. September has flown and it's just about October. I think I just started my calendar journal and now I need to start thinking about what I might do next year. I think your calendar is so you and I love seeing it every month. Have a great Saturday. I think your bird is perfect! And perfectly suited to those flowers :) The months pass by so quickly. It seems not long ago the September calendar was empty, and now look at it!

Your art journal journey pages really impress me. When you see them in the collage it really speaks of the volume of work you have done on this "journey." And I know -- I've said it before, I'll say it again. When I see your calendar I feel like such a slacker!
