Brisbane and ???

I want to begin today with a spread I've created for my 7 Continents altered book.  It's meant for Yvonne of Meggy's Way our host this month at Art Journal Journey, whose theme is Colo(u)r in my World.

I have chosen Beautiful Blue Brisbane to color my world today.   From the bright blue sky to the shimmering blue water, Brisbane is certainly beautiful.

I began by printing an 1870 map I found on the internet, then painted the substrate background using my wonderful watercolor crayons I got from Cindy at Christmas.  I used the same color on the label.  I found two images of Brisbane in my travel brochures, then sewed everything in place.  Believe it or not, the thread is dark blue.  Today's color is definitely blue for Beautiful Blue Brisbane.

Several asked to show where I went on Saturday when I took advantage of Smithsonian's Museum Day.  Here's a sneak peek.  I took over 550 photos before my batteries died.  I brought extra batteries, but I must have grabbed dead instead of charged ones.  So I missed an entire floor of this museum.

Thanks for joining me today to look at my sneak peek and also my journal page for Art Journal Journey.   Hope to see you there, too!

your museum trips are always interesting, so I look forward to some more of the photos you managed. 550 is a lot, even with a floor missing!

I wonder which would be a better city to visit? happy new week. Can't wait to hear more about your Saturday museum visit. Hugs-Erika

A trip to Australia is on my bucket list. Love your blue page. The sneak peek museum looks intriguing. Antiques? Antique toys? I really love the carousel horse. The jockey on the pull toy horse made me smile, too. Have a great day!

Stunning blue colours in your world today Elizabeth. I love the wonderful page to Brisbane and the details you added , including the colour of the matching thread.
Great photos from the museum, it was a shame the batteries for your camera went down, but it sounds like you will have many more to share with us.
Yvonne xx

I have a friend who lived in Australia and moved here about 2 years ago. Believe it or not, she hardly ever talks about Australia unless I ask specific questions.(lol) The way you've portrayed it is very lovely and creative. That typewriter brings back memories of how we used to type things back in the day. I heard Tom Hanks collects old typewriters, too. Seeing the museum and the things inside is really pretty phenomenal. Happy Monday! Hugs...RO
