WOYWW 418: the one with the ATC reveal

First, I want to begin by saying how saddened I was to learn about the horrible murders in London on Saturday night.  You in England have had a hard few weeks and you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Equally troublesome is the attack on a police officer today outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.  Seems the French have also been targeted once too many times, too!

I'm not sure if Julia, our host at Stamping Ground, has received her ATCs, but I know that Helen, my PIF partner, has received hers.  Therefore, I'm going to share them with everyone and hope they are still a surprise when Julia receives hers.

These are the only ones I made for year 8 of WOYWW.

My PIF partner is Helen (H).   In case you can't tell, there are four stories to each town house, making eight in total.

I like to send a little something extra to my PIF partner, because it is just good manners.  Now I'm sure many of you who visit each week know Helen.  There is NOTHING Helen can't or won't buy that I could possibly gift her with.   In fact, I suspect she spends more each month on art supplies than I spend in a year.  It suddenly hit me I had something she didn't have and couldn't buy at the store.

Although it wasn't as much as I would have preferred, I sent her a sheet of lavender handmade (by me) paper.  Why lavender you ask, since I had so little of it?  Because it's one of Helen's favorite colors.  Just visit her photo blog when she goes to Kew and you'll know why.

This and the next one (obviously) are for Julia.  I got this silly idea to add a tag that showed WOYWW on one side with the year, and one of my rocking horses on the reverse side.  I am not sure the idea was a good one, but I did it anyway.

For Diva, I cut and added a plastic bingo marker so it didn't stick too high above the ATC.  After I gessoed the centers of all the cards, I wished I hadn't.  But live and learn, I say.

These are the two sides of the tags I affixed to the back with tiny brads.    I STILL can't stamp!

But wait!  You are in for a real treat.

These incredible beauties arrived in the mail this week.

I didn't ask Julia for one, but she sent one anyway.  She is always doing something sweet like that.  I NEVER can get ahead when it comes to her thoughtfulness.

This handmade card (solely for Bleubeard's benefit) and this Christmas 3-D embellishment arrived with my PIF ATC from Nikki at Graphix and Design.  You know she's famous for the WOYWW buttons everyone uses on their blogs.

How appropriate is this? (Yes, that's the handsome Bleubeard and the button was created by Nikki)

She made this specifically for me.  Not sure anyone noticed that Lilian was left out of the mix, but I know Nikki created this for me as soon as she thought there were no more people joining the ATC party.   I can't thank Nikki and Julia enough for these gorgeous ATCs.

This beauty is my rocking horse of the week and it's sitting on my guillotine cutter that takes the place of my desk.  I apologize that this is already longer than most desker posts I create.  Thanks for visiting.  I greatly appreciate it.  Please leave your number if you have arrived here from Julia's blog.

I love the lavender paper, I am not sure I will be able to use it... lol! the tag was a great touch! Glad you've received some beauties of your own.

I was touched that you were so worried I may have been affected by the attack.. I don't go up to London at night (except for our Christmas work night out) and the station that was targeted is not one that I tend to use as it is not on a direct route from me at home. But thank you - as we have seen all to often, it can happen any time, anywhere, but it won't stop me doing what I want to. Helen #1

Had to smile when I saw "Diva" as I used to be known as the "Domino Diva" when I was demonstrating. Mainly because i gave dominoes a real 'kick' in the UK and demonstrated various things on them - and wore lots on my jacket. (only when dem'ing I might add) Also I used to have a blog with the word in it. Must try to find if it still exists - strange how I cannot remember the name - old age!
Thanks for showing us so many of your lovely creations and for showing us those you received. That was a wonderful and very thoughtful gift you sent to Helen.
Thanks also for holding us in your heart due to the recent bombings. Yes, Manchester was hard, evoking memories of the last time it happened but that time it was the IRA. Hits home when it is so close and you live near one of the victims
Love to you, Squiggles and, of course, Bleubeard and thank him for my snuggle.
Hugs, Neet xx

Lots of lovely artwork on all the various ATCs :)
And what a thoughtful gift with your own handmade papers - they look fabulous Elizabeth. The one time I tried handmade paper I had so many ice cream containers full of various pulp they ended up going mouldy.

Those ATCs are really really cool Elizabeth. I never thought of using the actual card front as my base-but it works really well! And wow- you have a great collection of handmade paper. Its fun to learn new things about people and I didn't know you make/made so much paper. And also great cards. You've had a good week so far I would say! Hugs-Erika

Love your ATCs. Never thought of adding a tag. What a fun addition. You received some beautiful ATCs. I especially loved Cats Love Birds and Bleubeard is my favorite. I tried papermaking with a kid's kit but found the sheets I made too thick.

Sounds like a wonderful swap and that you gave as good as you got! Or vice versa!

I wanted to thank you for the very thoughtful and well stated comment on my blog and especially for quoting the JFK speech. I wasn't familiar with that one and I'm so glad you shared it.

Yes, England and France have been having more than their share of trouble lately. I loved your words here.

So many fun goodies.
You know, Elizabeth, those Diva and Queen cards are really a great idea. Most of us would love decks of cards designed like that.

I echo your sentiments on England and France, and regardless of tweets I believe most Americans support them and their leaders 100 percent.

Aw Elizabeth, I did receive your absolutely awesome ATCs, on the day! I have no idea why I didnt manage to email you to say they'd arrived and to thank you, please lets put it down to a shocking memory. Geez. Love the rationale behind the lavender paper for Helen, see thats far more thoughtful than you could ever accuse me of being. How clever of Nikki, that button is such fun! The tag idea was a touch of genius actually, I love it, said as much to Helen too...so many things on your cards that I just look at and wonder 'why have I never thought of that'!

Lovely ATC's - I particularly love the playing card ones, that's a very clever and effective idea. The ATC for Bluebeard made me giggle, I love it!
So sorry I'm late replying to your visit, but I seem to be getting into a rather bad habit of taking until Tuesday to complete my commenting - hope I don't get struck off by Julia!

Great collection of ATCs, Elizabeth, and I do love your little tag with WOYWW on one side and the rocking horse on the other! The hand-made paper is fabulous. Unfortunately I didn't make mine for my recent project - it was in my stash. It is something I'd like to do, though. Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment - I was fascinated to read about the physics of hurricanes (having also looked at your later posts about the science stuff, I can see you have a real interest!). I am so glad you enjoyed looking at the progress on my little book. It is now finished and bound, and I've just uploaded the final blog post about it. I'm thrilled with how it came out.

I'm always late with my WOYWW comments - I didn't think there was actually a rule that we had to do all our comments on the Wednesday!! I never mind how late people are visiting mine, as I'm just happy to receive comments at any time!

Have a great week.
