T Stands For Art Fair Inspiration

Today I'm taking you back to the Art and Book Fair I went to last weekend.   I wanted to share some of the lovely pieces I found there.

The first place I stopped had some really nice pieces.

I was especially drawn to the dark blue in some of these mugs.

I talked to the gentleman who made these pieces

and he encouraged me to

take photos of his pieces, including this unique tea pot.

I was first drawn to this booth because of the big pots.   Then I saw the tea pots.  One is on the top far back right and one on the shelf on the left.

This is the one on the top of the shelving.  It has a unique color, although I'm sure anyone who knows glazes could tell me what it is.

This is the other one.   I wasn't sure how much I liked the glaze on this one.

Next I was walking by and saw this display with the goblets and mugs.   It's too bad the vendor had no shade, and no covering.  It was getting really hot by the time I reached here.

As much as I enjoyed the unique colors on this tea pot,

I really needed to find shade.

Now it's your turn to step into the spotlight and show us your T entry this week.  The rules are extremely simple.  Your drink related post may be anything from a photo of a glass, cup, or mug, to an actual drink.  You may choose to share a sketch or a digital, hybrid, or traditional page in your scrapbook, art journal, or altered book.  Maybe you'd prefer to share a tag, or wow us with your photography.  You might choose a postcard or decorated card.  You might even draw an image on a used tea bag.  Or perhaps you prefer to review a place you visited, a movie, or book.  It makes no difference as long as it's drink related.  And don't forget that the more unique and outside the box it is, the better we like it.  Please tie it back here, and please link only to your T post, not your entire blog.  When you link, Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit.   Bleubeard would also like to remind you that your photos may be taken any time, even months or years ago, if you choose.

I would be remiss if I didn't remind you this is the last week in May, so it's time to prepare for your Second On The 2nd post. If you aren't familiar with this fun event we hold each month on the 2nd of the month, all you have to do is bring back a post, any post, you are proud of, whether it was before anyone knew your blog existed, or it's your most viewed post. The only requirement is you must have shown it sometime in the past.

What a wonderful Art and Book Fair! My favourite pieces are the two teapots - I love the shapes of the one you describe as having a unique colour and the brown one with the grey shimmer, they are just my cup of tea ...lol! 😁 I enjoyed looking around at all the lovely pottery with you - Happy T Day! J 😊

What a wonderful place to browse! I would have loved to go.
Like you, I liked the blue pieces. And yes, the tea pots have very special colours. I would have thought you would like the colour of the red tea pot, as it looks rusty. (at least on the photo it does).
Thank you for sharing your outing to the fair.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

It amazes me that people can make matching pieces of wonderful pottery like that by hand. Thank you for sharing your photos of a fun day at the fair, Elizabeth. I especially like the narrow bottom big pots and how the artist let the glazes dribble down. I wonder what he was charging for those works of art.

My heart goes out to the vendor who had no shade. Been there; done that. One time I got assigned a spot right on top of a fire ant hill. True story.

Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

I have a weakness for pottery so I really enjoyed this post. I would probably have been tempted to buy a little piece, like another mug, but I sure would have been tempted by one of those tea pots. Not sure which one though. I love seeing how talented and creative people are and think what a better place it would be if everyone had an art (or music or some other) habit to relieve the stresses of everyday life. Happy T day. hugs-Erika

I used to collect lots of handmade pottery-I really love it allot. I miss the artist crafts shows that I enjoyed before moving here; they just don't have any near me.

Really beautiful pieces of pottery. I'm especially drawn to all the blues. The brown pot reminds me of a Brown Betty teapot, but my favorite is the blue teapot with stars.

Love seeing all that pottery Elizabeth!! You can take me to the art faire anytime you want!!! Would have loved to have gone with you in person...
Pssst.... we didn't want to be too intrusive with the guy with the crystal skull... he had ample opportunity to elaborate on the skulll and he chose not to so we didn't come right out and ask him... :) T day hugs! deb

I am in awe of those pieces of crockery. I have sat with my first cuppa on arriving home and had a good read through your posts that I missed. We have a few hand thrown pots, but no comparison to the ones you shared today. I will have to unearth them from the cupboard and take a photo.
The fair looked fantastic, loads of tempting things to look at and admire.
I can relate to the incident when you took the photos and the stall holder got verbal. It happens here at fairs as well, I think they should be pleased we like what we see.
Thank you again for arranging my link up, I will be round to visiting everyone again later today.[must get the washer going first]
Happy T day.
Yvonne xx

oh wow, what stunning ceramic work! I'm with you, I really love the blue glazes, but the earth tones are very nice too. Yes, those art fairs can be exhausting from all the walking... so glad you had your camera to take us along! I am late as usual to your party, but better late than never I guess! hugs to you!

I'm such a sucker for blue glazes. Those you saw are beautiful and I loved the teapots and goblets especially!

Thanks for you post comment. Yes, I think of Vietnam, too -- although I think equally of WWII because I read and watch so much about it. But I graduated in 1969 and the war went on for a few years after that. I just wish we didn't have to have any emblematic wars for any of our generations but I suppose it has been like that through time.

As a former potter, I find these ceramics quite lovely. It must've been a great fair.

The blue pottery is definitely my favourite! Seeing the clear sky I can imagine how hot you must have been without cover! A lovely place to visit though!

I love these kinds of fairs! Potters are genius artists, aren't they! Those tea pots would be hard to resist, and I agree with you about that blue color.
