Recap of these 22 days of recycling

This has been a super busy month.  I've taken over 6000 (yes six thousand) photos this month.  I'm anxious to share them, but must get them sorted first.   I'll give you  a brief look today.

First, I want to recap what I created during the 22 days of recycling.  Included is the beautiful project Chrissie made on Day 6, too.  Some days I liked what I made better than other days.  But I think that's how it is with all my work.  And of course, I had my favorites, too.

Three weeks ago, my friend Sally and I went to the African-American Museum for a talk on how alike Obama and Eisenhower were.  It was a very interesting discussion by a man who has studied both former presidents with ties to Kansas.

Fast forward to April 19, and we went to another talk, this time on genealogy.  Note how green everything is now.

After I cleaned my entire home from top to bottom, I took many, many photos.  It will be boring to some, but I hope others will see things they haven't seen in my home before.

This was the view out my front door.  That big black mailbox sits empty most of the time lately.  It was great for holding swaps, when I hosted them, though.

While I was putting things away, I found this eco-dyed fabric that looked like a bunny.  Guess I had bunnies on the brain.

The Saturday before my birthday (April 15), several of us went to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS.

I took over 1300 photos that day.

Joseph wanted us to experience the entire event, so we got tickets to all the shows and theaters.

On Friday night before the trip to Hutchinson (April 14), I had everyone over for snacks.  I'm sure there were a few non-vegetarians, but that didn't seem to dampen the spirits.  Yes, Joseph and his family are also vegetarians, so it was a treat for him.

Look who came to join us.  That's Mr. Social, aka the face of our blog.  However, even after I chased him all over the place, that was the only legible photo I got of Bleubeard.  Squiggles hid, as usual.

Speaking of food, I prepared two sockeye salmon fillets the Tuesday before Easter (April 11).  I knew Joseph was coming, so this was for him and his children.  I even show how I fixed one of these two wild caught salmon fillets, too.

In early April, I went looking for tulips in my neighborhood.  I have several photos of beds in my neighborhood as I walked around the area near where I live.

Also early in the month, I went to Wichita's newly revitalized water facility.  They were just finishing the renewal and repairs, and I was there to see the new facility.  Yes, the water is green.

The building is beautiful, though,

and the grounds are delightful to walk along, even if spring was just starting to show herself.

As I was dressing early on my birthday, I was struck by how long the tee Sally loaned me was.

Yes, it would have made a good dress were it a bit warmer out.

Sally was all bundled and you really couldn't see her turquoise shirt.

Everyone was so accommodating, allowing me to take photos of their signs art.

Different colored tees and

different reasons for attending the march.

All there for the Wichita (ICT) march, though.

This is like the one Sally wore.

I even saw several

pussy cat eared hats at the march.  One person announced there appeared to be over 700 people who attended the march.

And finally,

some wonderful friends who surprised me with gifts of cards and love.

It was late before I realized I had not checked my mailbox.  Yes, it was after 10 pm when I took these final photos as part of my birthday celebration.   I'm glad I remembered, because I got two more cards.

The large package came over a week ago and it's from Chris in England.

The last two came today.  In fact, I haven't had time to notify both Linda and Patty that they have been received.

Thanks go also to Krisha, Linda, and Patty.  Unfortunately, you'll have to wait for T Tuesday before I share these gifts.

Don't you just HATE it when you take time to stand in line to buy real postage stamps, then some idiot mail carrier is afraid you'll  reuse them.  As if I could use British stamps to send something in the US.  Not sure I'll be able to get the marker out or not.

Thanks for joining me today as I revisit some of the many places I went this month.  I can't wait to share even more photos from these and other places over the next few weeks.  Thank you for dropping by for this recap, and thanks for your continued support of my blog.  And I still have a few recycling projects I plan to share this month, too.

Thanks for sharing all you have been up to this month, you were certainly busy with recycling and even did a big house clean - well done. Have fun with your cards and gifts. The tee you were wearing is really huge, too funny, bit it was good to see so many people taking part in the march. Have a fun Sunday! Hugs, Valerie

Such a busy time you have had so far this month. Hope you can take a deep breath and relax now. Wonderful to see where you live and the places you visit and the buffet looks terrific with the veg--I am not vegetarian but I do love raw veg and dips.

Lovely to have cards and gifts from blogger friends as well.

You have a beautiful home and I think our whole house would fit into the photographs that you showed to us

Have a great day today and I hope the sun is shining for you

Love Chrissie xx

Gosh, you've outdone me in the number of photos I've taken in a few months...
Those talks you went to at the African American Museum would have been interesting for sure. And in 3 weeks the greenery changed so much, amazing nature.
Have a lovely Sunday Elizabeth.

This is such a delightfully fun post filled with birthday greetings (add mine to the list!), productive work (top to bottom? I bow before you!) and fun, too. I would have enjoyed that lecture. Our Science March was a pretty good one, too. I thought I took photos but you have me beat!

I'm glad you had a great day and weekend. So much to love here!

Inspiring to see all the people participating in the earth day celebrations, I am so impressed with all of your re-creations, hard to pick a favorite! I think it shows so much imagination to repurpose something into something new. You have some awesome knick knack things in your home. I love when things are not cookie cutter types, but a collection of things amassed over time. Much more interesting to look at. If you would like some snail mail, send me your details at nanskidrewski@gmail.com. I will add you to my list. Happy Sunday!

It was a wonderful re-cap post to read, You have had a busy month and shared so many fabulous recycling ideas with us.
Folk looked like they enjoyed the march and your T shirt only needs a belt to become a dress.

You have been busy!!!! This is a great montage of everything going on. It sounds like you are having a fabulous birthday month. So sorry I've been to engrossed in pre-kidney surgery to get you off a card. But I'm glad to hear that not everyone was a big bubba like me! Enjoy. Hugs-Erika

Great to see a recap of all your recycling projects and very timely to also show the march photos as well. I also enjoyed seeing the winter / spring view of the museum. That is nature in action!

You had a busy month Elizabeth! Love the house pics .. your living room is so nice! I think this "idiot mail carrier" knows me - because I send back the unmarked stamps to my foreign art friends in order to use them again. I am sure I have sent a toal of 30 $ back in this 15 years I do swaps.

Gosh Elizabeth, how fascinating that was. How on earth do you have time to do all the Real Life things AND produce such a very full blog? It's impossible.
Loved seeing your house, isn't it great to see inside another blogger's house.
I liked the personal photographs - your shoes and ankles and the tip of Bleubeards tail, haha! No photograph of Squiggles though.
I enjoyed all the rest, examined every one.
