St. Patrick's Day at Friday Smiles

I thought I would share this old altered book page I created several years ago because it seemed to be appropriate.

And here's a spread I created in my altered book that highlights Irish Proverbs.

I'm also joining Annie at A Stitch in Time with a few Irish Friday Smiles.

You may or may not be Irish.  I'm rather certain I'm not.  But I think it's a good excuse to have a party, with a bit of Irish blarney and some green eggs and ham!

All images were found on the internet.

And here's one for all us coffee drinkers (you know who you are . . . and aren't).

Thanks for stopping by today.  Now let's head to Annie's where it's always fun to start the weekend with a smile.  And kiss someone today, whether they are Irish, or not!

(If they look at you funny, tell them a leprechaun made you do it)

Happy St.Patrick's Day Friday!
I am not Irish but I am a big fan of Irish authors, like James Joyce, C.S. Lewis , G.B. Shaw . What a fun post Elizabeth!
Thank you for your extra comment with the citrasolv links. Hope they can help with the problem.

Happy St Patrick's Day to you. I am a quarter Irish thanks to my paternal grandmother. The jokes are so funny Elizabeth and thank you for the laugh so early in the morning.

Love your pages

Love our journal pages and all your Irish proverbs. I think celebrating green is perfect at this time of year-especially when there is so much snow on the ground for me. Or waiting for everything to green up elsewhere. Hope yours is happy. Hugs-Erika

And happy Saint Patrick's Day to you too! I needed a good laugh before I have to start the food shopping which I don't particularly enjoy but it has to be done. Just so you know where we were, the snow pic. is Tignes in France where they have had lots of snow though that was probably obvious from the photos Lol! we couldn't ski for two days. Annecy is lower down and we go through it to get to the airport at Geneva in Switzerland. Thanks for the visit to mine and wishing you a lovely weekend. Angela xXx

I am more than willing to celebrate even though I'm not Irish. Your post brought an early morning smile to this coffee drinker.

Happy St. Patty's Day! Just reading your post over my plain, black coffee.........wonder what my ancestors would say about that........being only the 4th generation out of Ireland *grin*

Love you page of Irish Proverbs ( yes I read them all) and that curse???? I think I've used it a time or two LOL!

Thanks for the Friday smiles

The Irish proverbs are fun. Love the curse. I calligraphed that for a friend. I'm not Irish (only through marriage). I went to a parochial elementary school and our patron saint was St. Patrick. Today would have been a day off from school after attending early morning Mass. As we passed by the nuns, we had to say Top o'the mornin' to ye. And we would hear And the rest of the day to yourself. Hope you have a grand day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I'm only Irish-for-the-day ;) but I always observe the day.

Happy St. Paddy's Day to you, too! Fun post and I really love the page!

Thanks for the nice comments on the post. Yes, the Tim Tams are delish and if you have any left make a hot beverage, cut the corners and sip up. A bib wouldn't hurt! I never got it quite right but it was fun trying!

I enjoyed your post today Elizabeth. We are both of 'Irish descent', but we don't make a thing of St Patrick's Day. But I did enjoy your quotes. I saw the last one on Facebook this week and it did make me laugh.
Well done on your altered book page. I have never been inspired to try that, but I know it is your thing. Kate x

I just love how you finished your blog post - the bit about the leprechaun! That certainly had me grinning ear to ear.
Love the pages you did regarding St Patrick's Day, nice use of the papers with the shamrocks.
Hugs, Neet (sending tickles for you know who and Squiggles too) xx

What a lovely fun post Elizabeth. Your journal page is spot-on!
I don't think St Patrick's Day get celebrated here in Europe, but it's fun to put Ireland in the spotlight for a day.
I really enjoyed the Irish proverbs. I enlarged the page and read them all.
And your funnies were.... well, funny. I giggled at "Shut up and finish your whiskey". (Which is often spelt 'whisky' in Ireland)
Have a great week,
Hugs,
Lisca

Its a super post and I did enjoy the Friday smiles, the Irish do have a great sense of humour.
Wonderful journal pages and I like how you added the lick to your first page with the four leaved clover [shamrock].

I love your book pages Elizabeth. I enjoyed the Irish smiles too. My paternal grandfather was Irish, but sadly I never met him. I love 'what time do the shenanigans start'!
