A quiltlet for Corrine and a happy birthday wish for Annette

I want to begin by wishing my dear friend Annette (aka Voodoo Vixen) a very happy birthday.  How many is it, Annette? 25 or 26?

My friend Scott dropped by Sunday and again on Monday night.  He had been out of town, so didn't bring the equipment he needed to fix my computer.  I suspect that will happen tonight after he gets off work.  Yes, he's a gem!

I have so many gifts I still need to make before I call this Christmas past, but I fear everything is going to be later than late this year.   Remember my word for 2017 is FOCUS?  I'm working on that.

I made this quiltlet for Corrine and once she let me know she's received it, I added the chosen photos to my blogger draft folder.  This was actually the first quiltlet I made that I truly liked.  It was SO Corrine.  I can't say I did a very good job sewing, because I was having trouble with my tension, but I like how it really reminded me of Corrine.

Those of you who follow my blog, more than likely recognize the materials I used for the face.  Yes, these are left over pieces of fabric from my sun dyed key journal.  The background is more of my grape juice dyed fabric.

Once again, I tore the total amount I needed and doubled it, then sewed around the entire piece.  I also added Bleubeard's and my name to the back before I sewed it all together.  I already had the holes punched, but failed to get a photo of it after I added the hanger, which, if I remember correctly, was more of the eyelash fibers.

Thank you for joining me today as I once again show my wonky sewing and funky face I created for Corrine.  Also, don't forget to wish Annette a happy birthday and a speedy recovery from her recent surgery.

Perfect qulitlet for Corrine as she is really into her cool doll making. I love it, and it brought a smile to my sleepy face this morning. I needed that too. Yawn-this getting up so early is difficult at this time of year. You are lucky to have a good friend like Scott, and I bet you are waiting to get all your new computer pieces hooked up! Hope it happens tonight for you. :) Hugs-Erika

Whimsy faces are certainly fun! The size almost look prayer-flag sized? A thoughtful gift.

This face has so much character. How do you make sad eyes and a friendly smile with just a few pieces of fabric? Lucky Corrine, and I think this is just up her street.
