Headlights

I'm joining my friend Valerie this month's host at Art Journal Journey with a journal page for her light and darkness theme.

I call this one Headlights

because headlights show us the way

through the dark nighttime streets and roadways.

I fear my scanner is on its last leg (although it is barely two years old) because of the lines it creates on this totally black background. And even though I clean the glass each time before I scan, there are a surprising amount of white spots that show on each and every scan.  The background is as black as black can be, but it doesn't appear that way in the scan.

Thanks for joining me today as I show homage to Valerie's light and darkness theme at Art Journal Journey.  I'm thrilled you took the time to visit, even though this is a really busy time for all of us.

This is great, the cars and trucks and buses are moving and lighting the dark, I can see that! I wonder how you did this, it's very clever, and of course perfect for the theme.

Wonderful! This seems like somewhat of a departure from your usual work. You know I'm a fan of black/white art. You were so creative in meeting this challenge.

Headlights and tail lights in traffic jams always remind me of strings of Christmas lights. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw your page.

As to the scanner. See if your scanner settings has a way to calibrate the scanner. Check the manufacturer's support page.

I love this E, the abstract pattern and the scale, and the color.. and if it is black as black can be, then even better!! x

Its a wonderful page, and such an amazing contrast in black and white. I can imagine cars speeding on motor ways with their lights on full to show the way.

Wow! What a fabulous page - those roads are like the one we came home on this evening for seeing my brother and SIL! Some headlights are almost blinding though when the roads are really dark! We stopped up on a very high road and got out to look at the stars without light pollution though - amazing! Big Hugs, Chrisxx

This is another one of your works that I can picture framed on a wall or shelf. Intriguing. I like cityscapes and city images, and this scene really appeals to me :)
