T Stands For Craft Barn T

I've had this ready since last Thursday, but decided to save it for T time.  Craft Barn's latest challenge is T, and since there was no twist (like a dreaded dragonfly), it was an easy choice for me.

I got a little carried away with the stamping, but it's no secret I am not very good at this sort of task.  All of the stamps were red rubber and all were unmounted

except my little cup with the rose center.  Now you see why I prefer wood mounted or silicone stamps?

Above is the definition of tea which is also one of the Craft Barn challenge requirements.  I confess that a few of my stamps were "harmed" (certainly not charmed) during the commission of this assignment.

The oriental teapot was one I picked up in a grab bag at my local craft store, and all the other UM rubber was on a sheet of red rubber from a gift I won from Toodles and Binks.  Although I found their blog, it looks like Kay hasn't posted for over three years.  So I have no idea if they still sell their rubber stamps or not.

As an aside, I was able to visit everyone who linked to the Craft Barn's last challenge.  I plan to visit you this fortnight, too.

If you came from the Craft Barn and would like to join our little T Stands For Tuesday group, we invite you to do so, but please be aware your linked post MUST include some type of drink.  You may show a glass of water, mug of coffee, cup of tea, glass of buttermilk, bottle of wine, you get the picture.  But don't feel you have to limit it to a physical drink.  You could share the drink in a postcard, movie, book you are reading, garden plant, or a sketch, scrapbook page, painting, or collage made in your journal or altered book.  Your spread could be traditional as mine was today, hybrid, or completely digital.  The choice is yours.

Bleubeard wants to remind you that your pictures/photos/scans may be taken anytime, and your post can be anytime, even backlinked.  He also wants you to please link your direct post, not your blog in general.  After you link, Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit.

Thanks for your visit, whether you are here from the Craft Barn challenge, T Stands for Tuesday, or just because you like our company.

Lovely page Elizabeth, I so wanted to join in at The Craft Barn this year because I really love dictionary challenges after the last one I did - but I never really got going on it. I collected a heap of dictionaries too!

I like your tea stamped pages Elizabeth. The fact that some of the images may not be perfect doesn't much matter. Anything done by hand is never perfect, except maybe making a cup of tea. But even that can get botched up on occasion. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

You have some really nice tea themed stamps E.
I agree with you about unmounted rubber being a little trickier to stamp with.
Putting a piece of foam (like a mouse pad for example) under what you're stamping helps give it a bit of cushion and make contact.
That said nothing is perfect and I like that about rubber stamping.
Your page looks super.
Happy T Day oxo

what a collection of tea stamps you have! concerning mounted vs unmounted: most of mine are unmounted, but i put them temporarily (with removable gluestick) on a Plexiglas block (i have a set of them). helps me save space and Money.
happy t-day!

Oh I love your tea related stamps! Of course you HAD to enter this challenge! And you made a lovely page. That the stamps are not perfect doesn't matter. I like the colour combination of the green and the red.
I bought some unmounted stamps by mistake. They came in the post and I hadn't realized they were unmounted. I then bought a sheet of something (don't know what it is called) to mount them on and I use them with an acrylic block. Works fine. They don't stick to the block, but just wetting them with my finger keeps them in place while I stamp.
Have a great T-Day,
Lisca

I love your tea page even though I don't drink tea! I love seeing the whole teapot , teacups etc when folk take afternoon tea! As for the stamping I have a whole range of stamps from wood mounted, 'sponge' mounted and clear - I do have a few unmounted rubber stamps but they are mainly background type that I only ink part of for random stamping. If they are image stamps I usually buy U-mount or something similar to stick them onto. I like the vintage look you have achieved with these stamps - it suits the images well! Off to cara today! btw something on t'other blog! Hugs, Chrisxx

I love that tea pot stamp. I was never able to make stamps look like part of a larger work like you are able to. Nice!

I think you did amazingly well with your stamping considering they weren't mounted...I love that Oriental tea pot! the overlapping squares of color and the book text make these pages beautiful!...I am so disappointed when I stumble across a wonderful blog that is no longer posting, but at least the old posts often remain up so we can enjoy them...happy T day my dear friend! ♥

T for Tea. Excellent. Is Craft Barn where you get most of your stampers?

There is nothing like a good cup of tea! Love your page, and the slight mishaps with the stamping give it an antique feel. Perfect stamping is boring anyway! :D

Great T page. I know you 'think' you're no good at stamping but I think you have some lovely stamps and a bit of practice will make all the difference. Have you tried slipping a mouse mat under the page you are stamping on and standing up when you stamp? It might help.

Back to let you know... you mentioned your friend Kathi having Copics because they are refillable. The Spectrum Noir markers are refillable too. I'd probably have to get refills somewhere online-if I even wanted to refill them.

A great T page, you can't possibly go wrong with tea xx

For unmounted stamps, I use acrylic blocks and a glue stick on the back of the stamp. (the glue washes off easily) For a good impression, I then stamp on my card with a foam mat underneath, mine is a mouse mat with the foam side up.
I like your page and the stamps look good, don't despair you will find a way to get a good impression.

Terrific page! I am a big fan of Tea, cannot live without it. I'm glad you had a go with the rubber stamping, the result is great.

Fab page. I love tea and your stamps are great. Your T stands for Tuesday group sounds interesting. I will go and check it out :)

You always say you are no good at stamping but I am so pleased that you never give up:) It does come with practice - getting the right amount of pressure all over the stamp, having the cushioning under the stamp, etc,. On my unmounted stamps I always use EZMount, this has a sticky side to adhere to the stamp and a cling side which clings to acrylic blocks. Makes life (and stamping) so much easier :)

Enough waffle!! I do love your page with all the tea pots and tea cups. It is fab xx

A great idea for your page, I love tea, but didn't think to do that for my tag. Keep on practising your stamping. I use an old magazine underneath so there is a bit of give when you press the stamp down. I think you will find that will help, rather than try on a hard surface.

Your love of tea shines out from your page. Personally I hate the stuff!

I too put a mouse mat under my card when using uncounted rubber stamps - I never mount my stamps onto foam. Using the right ink for the type of card/paper and also if the stamp is detailed makes a huge difference.
