ICADs for week 4

Can you believe that June is nearly gone and those of us who have played, have completed 26 days of index cards?

"Fly a kite." (June 20, 2016)  I wanted to pay homage to Father's Day, but also wanted to pass the baton from spring into summer.

"Welcome Summer!" (June 21, 2016)  Last Tuesday was a very busy day, and I didn't get home till late in the evening.  So this was the most I could muster with what little time I had left to the day.

"I'm so cute, I'm an 11."  (June 22, 2016)  Bleubeard was NOT impressed with this one!

"Sunflowers follow the sun." (June 23, 2016)  I stamped this one, and tried to mask off the sunflowers in front.  I still don't have the concept of masking down.

"Untitled 1." (June 24, 2016)  I found a few bouquets of flowers and thought they would be a good size for ICADs.  I looked through my stash and found an addition that looked like it would go with this floral arrangement.

"Untitled 2." (June 25, 2016)  I used a piece of paper or kitchen towel as the background, and it was hard to write on.

"Birds." (June 26, 2016)  I tried a new technique, but I fear it didn't work.  I colored one of my acrylic blocks (the kind you adhere unmounted rubber stamps to) with watercolor pens.  Sadly, the pens were fairly dry, so they didn't color as well as I had hoped.  Then I spritzed the block and stuck "stamped" it on my index card.  When the card was dry, or nearly dry, I stamped the birds on the card.  What I hoped would be a fun look, turned out to be a rather dismal index card.

Thanks for joining me for this week's index cards.  I really appreciate your visit, because although my dear friend Cindy told me Tammy had Mr. Linky on her blog, I couldn't find it.  That means this is still (at least until I find Mr. Linky) the only place you will see my ICADs.

EDIT: Looks like Cindy found Mr. Linky for me
at Tammy's Daisy Yellow.

A wonderful selection of cards, with sewing and so many techniques - well done! I am sure Bleubeard didn't like the one with the dog, how could you?! Have fun at the museum! Hugs, Valerie

these are wonderful examples of variety and just fun play Elizabeth! A great way to try out techniques too. Happy Sunday!

Lovely assortment Elizabeth - as usual, you're too hard on yourself. The card with the kite is really charming. I'm not sure about this 'summer' idea though - what does that word mean? In the UK it seems to mean rain, thunder and lightning, and wind. Brrr. My favourites in this series are the ones with the bouquets. The stitching and colours are just beautiful. You can find Tammy's Mr. Linky page here: http://daisyyellowart.com/vividlife/index-card-a-day-blog-round-up

I really enjoy your cards. I love how they vary and you have almost made a card journal Elizabeth. June has just about buzzed by and I have failed to even start any cards. I always think I'll have time but the end of school always consumes me and wipes me out. Oh well. Can't wait to see your next batch. Happy new week. Hugs erika

Looks like you're still having lots of fun with the ICAD challenge E!
Such a nice variety and I am especially drawn to the flower theme celebrating the start of summer!
It blows my mind that July starts this Friday.

p.s. You asked in your latest comment on my Magpie's Nest if we visited The Vatican... the answer is we did not venture as far as Italy staying just in France for this trip. I had visited Rome and The Vatican when I was younger back in the day :-)

The months are indeed flying by but you are doing a great job keeping with with the ICAD challenge. I actually think the stamped bird card is my favorite although you think it failed. I just finished a "bird" thing myself.

All of your Icads have so much personality and are so varied. I like the way you talk about them and discuss them.
I like the two with the flowers in the vases and the way you have put sewing on them, but I like them all.
I agree with Bleubeard that the dog one is not the best (have to keep in with Bleubeard, haha!). Hi, Bleubeard, I am definitely a cat person.

I had to smile about your 'dismal birds' card. you don't know how many times I have tried to stamp an image, and end up coloring the thing in with a black pen! ;) really fun ICADS...love the little guy with his kite, and the watermelon...and well, that puppy IS so cute! so fun to see you stamping the date too...wonder how expensive it would be to get a signature stamp made? Happy summer indeed! ♥

I love all your cards but have a very soft spot in my heart for the father's day and the birds. Dismal? No. I like it!

I bet Bleubeard was not impressed with that whippet, or Italian greyhound. Nice selection of icad's. Looks like you are enjoying going your own way with this challenge. xox
