Try it on Tuesday (TioT): Feminine and Fancy

Today I'm joining my art friends at Try it on Tuesday (TioT) with their latest challenge, which is feminine and fancy.

I admit this may be a bit of a stretch, but

when I saw this photo in a book, and the little girl was the only person in full camera view I simply had to make her very feminine in her Easter bonnet.

I've had this sheet music lying around for I have no idea how long, and felt it was the perfect time to use it.  I couldn't get it on one page, and couldn't even get it on two pages, so tore it in half and matted the music so the title would stand out.

This is an old, old song, and it's really called "Put on your old grey bonnet," but I replaced the "old grey" with Easter.   I originally cut the piece to hold the word "Easter" so it would fit over the words.  Then I decided I wanted everyone to know there were other words under "Easter," so I decided to angle it.

I used every pink pen I owned to color the shoes, purse, gloves, buttons on the jacket, and hat.  To take it over the top, I added the feathers.

She's definitely looking fancy in her Easter bonnet and finery.  And I'm hoping she looks feminine, too.

Thanks for looking and I hope this meets the requirements for Try it on Tuesday's challenge.  I don't really "do" feminine very well, I fear.

Of course, please visit Try it on Tuesday for some really talented artists, including the guest artist this fortnight who is Erika, one of my internet art friends.

I have never heard this original song but when I saw the title I immediately started singing David Bowie's 'put on your red shoes and sing the blues'.... but I love your easter themed and coloured pink little girl!!

what sweet memories! First off- how clever to change the "grey" to Easter in an artsy way. Love how you gave the girl some needed color and those feathers in her bonnet finish her up perfectly!
