My completed March calendar and April's, plus a few photos of my flower bed

March is nearly over, and I'm jumping ahead so I'm ready for April.  For those of you new to my blog, every day from April 1 to April 22, which most people call Earth Day, I will share how to rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle, re-invent, recover, restore, rebuild, revamp, or repurpose something in order to save it from the trash, and ultimately to save our planet.  Which of course, leads to respect: respect for our planet, respect for trash as art, and respect for what you as an artist can achieve.   Of course, in my world, it's known as bEARTHday.  Yes, I was born on Earth Day and, although I'm not a tree hugger in the 80s sense of the phrase, I believe in saving our planet, my money, and reducing what we send to the trash bin.

But for now, here's March's calendar.

You can read the minutia or just believe I lead a very boring life.

Right now April is even more boring than my life, but I hope it gets better as I determine how to decorate for the month.  I suspect at some point there will be cake.

And because my life is so boring, here are some flowery changes that were made to my yard over the previous two weeks.

When we begin this saga, the hyacinths are in full bloom,

but the only other color

was the neighbor's redbud in full bloom.  Have I mentioned how much I love my camera?

The tulips were finally starting to show their faces

just as the hyacinths were starting to fade.

Days later the tulips were still

wary of blooming

even though they were starting to pop up

all over my flower bed garden.

Tuesday many tulips

had brightened my front yard.

Even the dill I planted last Saturday was starting to show (pot on the left), although I may have drown the coriander (pot on the right).

Wednesday morning dawned humid and overcast.  However,

I was greeted with the first of my irises

and more tulips.

They are everywhere, but so is the ground cover that has now appeared and is beginning to take over the yard.

Looks like I didn't kill my rose bush, so I think I trimmed it at a good time.

As I was returning to the house, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye.

I waited until the little fella' showed his face.  I swear he was looking straight at me, even though I was nearly to my porch by that time.

I decided to photograph him as he worked his way down the tree

and watched as he hung by his back claws to the tree.

One final shot shows how well my zoom lens works as this little guy is now across the street in my neighbor's yard.

Thanks for sharing my boring life and visiting today.  Your visits make my life far less boring.

Oh green! It is making me swoon. Yesterday I raked a bit after work and I saw just the tips of some crocuses coming out of the ground. I was very excited. I've said this a millions time I think lately but spring takes so long to get here to New Hampshire. And they are saying w could get some more snow Sunday or Monday. Oh my. Love the idea for Bearthday. Very clever, smart and even fun. Hugs-Erika

After your March, I'd be glad for an easier April -- at least to start! Somehow I have a feeling it will be just as full!

It looks like spring has landed where you live. The photos are wonderful. I especially loved the pink tree. We might see those in April this year but usually not till May. They don't last long but while they do, wow!

The hyacinths are so sweet, aren't they! I love the yellow tulips, and I _really_ love redbud trees :) It's interesting to see your garden at the beginning of the season. I think I'll take some photos once I have my pots planted on the patio. I do enjoy it when you share your plants.

Love your calendar pages- I especially love how you added little illustrations! Your garden is looking good - sadly we have to while for the hyacinths and irises, although I have seen tulips in someones garden! I got all excited at seeing your mail box - I think US boxes are far more interesting that just a gap in a door! Your zoom is brilliant and I love that the little fella came to visit your tree! Your neighbourhood looks very neat and tidy with plenty of space around! Off to sort '2nd' post! Hugs, Chrisx

Love the flower pics. And look at that squirrel! I love the red squirrels. We've got the gray ones in NC. They're smaller and not as pretty....but still pretty squirrely:)
I'm looking forward to your Earth posts.
As you probably know I'm doing my A-Z on cats. Y is going to be Your Cats and I'm trying to get pics of blog buds felines. I would love to have a picture of Bleubeard for that day. If you're interested just shoot me a note on the blog and I'll send you my email addie or you can leave me yours:)
Have a good one!

An earth day baby, what a treat. Now I know that all your recycling is part of your DNA. The garden is beginning to pop. Here too just a wee bit. Soon it will be in full Spring and your herbs will be overflowing their pots. Now that we're settled I've been working on a decent size veg garden to be. We can share growing photos before long. Happy weekend. Xox

I don't think you have a boring life. I love reading about your life. I bet your Spring garden is going to be gorgeous this year. My daffodils have bloomed but my poor gardenia plant is still flattened to the ground. I keep peeking at it every day to see when she starts perking up. My rare apple blossom trees are starting to bud out. My Maple is blooming. We have new baby maples that my DH planted. My tiger lilies are starting to wake up. It's so much fun to see everything wake up.
