T Stands For Love and Cupcake

I took this photo before my weekend company arrived on Thursday.  They have finally departed and I have nothing left but memories of the weekend, since I took absolutely NO photos.  These are my photo phobic friends who also were upset whenever I was on the computer.  But we had a good time watching the NBA All-Star weekend events and cheering for our favorite players in each of the sporting events.

First, for my friends in the U.S., I hope you had a lovely Presidents Day.  Now for my Love post.  I didn't go all out for Valentine's Day like I normally do,

but I purchased four good banana oatmeal cupcakes from my local bakery, one for each person.  That means this is a staged photo because the cupcake went back in the box so it could be served the next morning.

They had nuts and sugary crunches and drizzles on top, and were really yummy, although they were probably not the best, or healthiest choice for breakfast fare.

Of course, I had to show them in my large tea cup that goes with the matching teapot.

I'm not sure if this is the one I eventually got, but they were all beautiful and garnered praise from my friends, who are very hard to please.

I bought some Hershey kisses and hugs and cherry kisses, too.  I also added some caramel candies.  By the end of the weekend, this container was nearly empty.  It seems this was in a well used path, so these ladies stopped by and popped a few in their mouths each time they walked by.

Unlike in this photo and the ones below, Squiggles was definitely scarce all weekend.  He hid under my bed after he realized people would be in the office.

But he was having lots of fun beforehand, at least.

At first I thought he was playing with something on the floor that he had removed from one of my completed altered books,

but upon careful inspection, it was a piece of the plastic container the cupcakes had come home in.

Yes, these books are cat magnets.

I'm not sure if he was bored or ready to move on, but I couldn't get him to join us for T this week.  And he's not like some cats, like Rita's Karma.  He's constantly on the move and snooping into everything.

Speaking of snooping, now it's your turn to snoop into the tea (or other beverage) drinking lives of the T gang this week.   It's also time to share your drink related post, too.  It can be photos, a place you visited, an empty cup or mug (or one that contains a cupcake), movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below, then Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that your photos may be taken at any time, while Squiggles will return to hiding in the office, as he is right now.

Sounds like you had another great weekend watching basketball with friends. With all that chocolate and baked goods, what could be bad?

Those muffins do look amazing ♥ You just have to indulge once in a while. If I had been there I can quarantine the candy dish would have been completely empty :) Squiggles sounds a lot like one of my cats. He goes into hiding as soon as anyone shows up .

Oh the muffins! Sugar rush indeed but they do look yummy! I recognised the shape of the kisses as my DIL brought me some when she had her round America trip when she was engaged to my son! A final fling!!
I love the Squiggles pics, he is having fun and I do so think of our Snowy when I see that sort of play! Hugs, Chrisx

Squiggles doesn't like company, does he? Our cat doesn't either.
The cupcakes look really yummy. As I'm on a diet at the moment, I'm literally salivating!
(And we won't even mention those lovely chocolates).
I haven't linked up yet for the simple reason I have not written anything yet. I will soon. We are in a bit of a situation here, which is will be resolved but you will read about it in my blog later on.
Happy T day

Sounds like a great weekend with company. I enjoyed all the pictures but I was mainly focused on those altered books. Wanted to pick each one up and look at it. We've probably seen photos of them but there is nothing like holding the real thing in your hands.

I guess cats are a little like children in that they enjoy the wrapping much better than what is inside sometimes! Cherry and chocolate is one of my favorite combinations.

It sounds like you had a fun time with your friends enjoying the NBA All-star events.

I get a kick out of reading about your friends' techno/photo/computer phobias. In this day and age, and considering how much I've always loved the ease tech brings to my life, I can't imagine why they object so strongly. I'd have been asking you if I could watch while you worked on your computer lol

Your party food looks yummy :)

Such strong techno-phobias, in this day and age really surprises me.
I, too love the ease it brings to my life......but my Mom never wanted anything to do with it either. She either hand wrote a letter or picked up a telephone......she refused to have a cell phone too......and she has only been gone 5 years this summer.

Now, that muffin not only looks yummy but sounds divine too.

Sounds like you still had a good time with your friends. We aren't into basketball.....I'm a football junky.....LOL

Thanks for sharing all your goodies and pictures of the "kids"...Happy T-day

OMG. Got any cupcakes left over? I'll be right there:) My sister in law makes banana chocolate chip muffins and they are so yummylicious.
I got my sister a Hershey Kisses candy dish for her wedding:)
I love your antique horse. Sounds like a wondrous weekend.
The pics of those cupcakes have made me hungry, going to go fix lunch now:) Squiggles is very handsome:)
Have a great day, my friend.

The cupcakes look delicious! And I wouldn't be able to resist that tempting dish of candy either.

My cats get into all my art stuff, too...that is, when I allow them in my studio!

No tea for me this week but greatly enjoying yours! And your sweet Squiggles, too! I am so delighted to have found you at last and wonder -- since I've followed other "mutals" for so long, what took me so long!

(I know about the computer friends. I hate that! My guest last week was on a different time zone and that worked out very well indeed!)

Even if I have company who could care less if I took pictures--I forget! I forgot to get any pictures of Leah on Craft Night again, too. We forget to take pictures of Ian all the time. But when I am alone I take pictures all the time. Silly me.

The cupcakes look delicious! Sounds like you had a good time.

Not many cats are a lazy and slow moving as Miss Karma--LOL!
Happy T-Day! At least I am going to try to make it around this week. :)

Yummy muffin love. I like they way bakeries are using those dark papers now, makes the cupcake or muffin look like a jewel. Poor Squiggles, don't most cats hide away when they encounter strangers? My friend's cat used to always. Happy T day, belatedly. xox
