Not sure I should show this, much less enter it in two challenges

I think the post title says it ALL!

I suck at stamping, and it is even worse now that my pigment ink pads I recently purchased on clearance are no longer juicy.

Valerie, the host of Art Journal Journey this month asked for collage and journaling (IE words on the page).

For the left side of the spread, I tried to stamp two of my "favorite" stamps, Moo-Mania and More's challenge this fortnight, one of which was my Eiffel Tower, the other my favorite Piero Fornasetti stamp of Lina Cavalieri, who he painted or drew over 500 times.  Unfortunately, the stamp didn't take, and I made the mistake of trying to draw over it.  Also, to my chagrin, one of the background circles I created was directly over where her mouth should be.  So the beauty that should have been Lina turned into Porky the Pig!

For the right side, I stamped the Eiffel Tower a second time, this time much better, and added a heart I painted.  One thing you won't have to put up with, at least for awhile, is seeing my horrible handwriting.  I finally got ink while I was out Wednesday, so I can print my thoughts again.

Please join me at Art Journal Journey as well as Moo-Mania and More for collage (with journaling) and stamping that is far, far better than anything I could make.  And thanks for visiting, laughing, and commiserating at my horrible stamping, especially the mess I made of Lina.  I thought Porky looked pretty good, though!

I love your double spread for AJJ! I think it is always good to show how things turn out, the message is there, and the lady looks different today, that's true, but still impressive. Thanks for joining us at Art Journal Journey, and your refreshing description of your progress today, which gave me a sorely needed smile. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

First of all ! Your handwriting is pretty well! Don't struggle with it.
Everbody thinks his/her handwriting is bad ..and the handwriting from all others is better - that's a fact!
I laughed about your text... so funny always what you write about mistakes- Miss piggy/porky---lol!
You can be proud of you - that you gave the rubber image prints such a charming look - you know to stamp over acrylic paint is nearly impossible - so it turned out fab! I love what you have made here!
Happy day Elizabeth and thank you so much for another once more joining Art Journal Journey and Moo Mania & More at once!

I really like this spread. It has great balance and colour, and the message is spot on, too. I find we are already forgetting Paris, most of us, going on with our lives. Your handwriting is lovely, I see no fault with it. :-)

I like this. If I didn't know your ink pad wasn't juicy I would think this is what you were going far! Sometimes it doesn't have to be a perfect stamp to be complete.

I think your spread makes a definite statement. The "ill placed circle" made this lady look outraged or horrified which we all should be.

It is not easy to move on and forget for me when everyday on the news I hear some new story--very often in the very new, very safe city (not nearby) where DD now lives.

Oh Elizabeth! You have made me laugh! I love your pages but your account of the making reminds me of some of my own pearshaped moments! The colours are fabulous and the thoughts behind your page are still certainly mine! Meeting up in Paris with SIL and BIL in the spring! I love the look you have given your lady (your ink may work better on plain paper) and your handwriting always looks fine to me, but no use putting yourself through any pain! Hugs, Chrisx

I like your handwriting!

When I use stamps I can never integrate them into a larger work. They look fine as a single item, but they never work for me as part of a larger piece. I admire how yours feel integrated into this larger sentiment.

Well Elizabeth! I don't care what you think, but I love your journal pages and your creativity! As for handwriting, I think we all struggle with it. Believe me, I wish I could write like Heidi Swapp. Anyway, your handwriting is lovely! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. You can reach me at kellydeal@comcast.net. Have a wonderful day!

Hello Elizabeth, I was fascinated by this post - your art and your contradictory words. I expect when you look back on this you will think, as others do, that your artwork is very good. I would love to see this written with you praising yourself and your techniques at every step - as it easily could be.
I'm laughing at your words, but very much admiring your artwork.

Oh my don't be down on yourself to me this looks awesome. Wonderful colours, and the lady with the circle for her mouth, looks like she is shouting to everyone to remember what happened in Paris. can you tell I think you made a fantastic journal spread.

I like both the colors used and the theme. I think you are too hard on yourself about your handwriting. Even though I think there is a place for printed words, hand written words seem to add something more personal to me. Particularly true in a sentiment like you have used here.

I look at the images before reading a post so that I can gather my first impressions, and to me, Miss Lina is gasping at the horror. Your composition is perfect, however unintended, as is the sentiment put with the stamping. I wish my handwriting was as good as yours on my best day, but I'm glad to hear you will be stamping more, to ease your pains.
I would still like to see some of your 'old' handwriting if you can find any :)
Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead :D

Looks like the faces I draw on purpose, I like those circle mouths. I could never do handwriting and my maiden name is Palmer so you can imagine the torment in Catholic School for the girl trying to learn the Palmer Method with that last name and being a lefty and getting scolded constantly for not being able to write cursive well. I'll take your handwriting and drawing anyday. xox

This looks lovely! I didn't notice any problems with the ink pads not being "juicy" anymore.
