WOYWW tags for the Halloween swap and crop

I realize it's been a LONG time since I've played in WOYWW, hosted by my dear friend Julia at Stamping Ground, but I'm sure the people who are going to the WOYWW Halloween crop know who I am.  Aside from the fact there are no rocking horses on the tags, I'm still excited to share them with my WOYWW friends.  Julia didn't want the Halloween crop confused with the annual WOYWW anniversary crop, so instead of exchanging ATCs, as we do for the anniversary crop, she suggested tags.

I know there are a TON of people who make tags that are out of this world.  They put their hearts and souls, as well as everything but the kitchen sink into (and on) the tags they make.  Mine, by comparison, are rather wimpy.

The good news is, Julia received the tags I made several days ago.  The bad news is, I forgot to photograph all but the first two pre-assembled photos.

I began by sorting my substrates between multiply and add flash cards.  To make the flash cards more tag-like, I cut triangles in the two top edges.  Since I'm so anal, I had to grab two of the cut edges out of the recycle basket in order to show photograph what I had cut.

I next got out some of my Halloween inspired stamps, and began auditioning the placement of the stamps and the words I had created on my computer.   These were the only photos I took of the tags.

Although this is not how I positioned the words in the final assemblies, I wanted to show the sayings a bit closer.

After I heard from Julia that she had received the tags, I decided to create one final tag to show what I could remember of how I made these.  I'm sure someone who attends the crop will share what they got, so you will be able to see what I made.

It's always easier to make them all at once, so making a single tag was harder than the assembly process I went through.  And of course, you don't have to tell me my stamping sucks.  Even with the help of a stamping aid my friend Mo sent me, I still suck.  BTW, I included a bit of fancy fiber for each tag, but due to thickness concerns, as well as my limited pinch grip, each recipient will have to assemble her own.

My tags are nothing to write home about, but they were inspired by my friend Johanna who used flash cards to make some incredibly awesome and colorful art from hers.  I hope you'll take a look at the ones Johanna made and be as inspired as I was!  And of course, thanks for looking and visiting.

I so wish I was going to the crop and even more do I wish that I had sent some tags! Yours are so clever, I don't know whether you do, but stamping on a surface with a bit of give underneath your substrate (even a magazine - a tip from a TV programme! ) may help you to get a crisper image! Have a good day! Rain here!! Hugs, Chrisx

I love the idea of making tags from flash cards, must try it, as I have a whole pile here. It must be hard for you to stamp if you can't grip the things properly, but good for you that you always do it, and your tags are fun. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

A wonderful set of tags and a great way to use the cards.
I immediately thought of the flash cards I used to use when teaching children to read.
Thank you for your kind words when you visited me. It was my pleasure to visit every ones blogs, when I was a guest hostess at A.J.J.
I learnt a lot and made many new blog friends and now I love popping in to see what you have added to your blog.

I like the way you used the flash cards and turned them into tags. You always come through for your swaps.
