My final photos for Rinda's photo challenge

These are the last of my photos for the 2015 Photography Scavenger Hunt hosted by Rinda at Gallo Organico.  To see part 1, please go here and for part 2, please go here.  To see the entire collection, check out my Previous Collaborations page.

I had two photo prompts I still needed to take, and one I couldn't pass up.  The one below was the hardest of all.

4. People playing a card or board game.

It's hard to get photos of others playing cards or board games when you live alone, and your cats refuse to participate in such nonsense.  So this one was improvised.

I had to go on the internet to determine how to lay out the traditional solitaire game.  I play Freecell, but do so on the computer only.  So, after I laid out the cards in the proper order,

it looked like I had a pretty decent game.  However, I didn't win, even after a really good start.  I hope this qualifies, because I'm out of other options.

In order to complete the Scavenger Hunt, I needed to replace this photo I took of four flags

after I misread the prompt.  I needed to replace it with

15: A flag pole with at least three flags on it

I admit I got inspiration from my friend Halle, who used a toy with three plastic flags, and from BJ, who made her own flag.  Granted her's had real flags on it, and it was much larger than mine, but both these participants influenced

my decision to make my own flags from a large sandwich toothpick, a polymer clay bead, and washi tape.

And finally, I have to show an even better set of photos of

18. An overloaded truck, car, bicycle or other vehicle:

This is the overall view of the very first load of recyclables going to Goodwill in Sally's brand new car.  The photo was taken about two weeks ago in my drive. This is the first of 11 loads to date (as of September 17).  And each load was equally full.

This is how I loaded the area behind the passenger seat.  Looks like I have no room to sit, since Sally's and my purses are taking all the passenger seat space!

This is the side behind the driver

and this is what I stashed in the hatch.  It's a good thing Sally has a backup monitor on her dash, or she would never have been able to see behind her.  I could have gotten more bags or boxes in, had that kitchen barstool chair not taken so much room.

With a little ingenuity, and a bit of creatively interpreting the prompts, I was able to find photos to satisfy all 21 prompts on the Scavenger Hunt list, in addition to all three alternatives.

I had fun taking photos and interpreting the prompts along the way.  I want to thank Rinda for being such a wonderful host, and putting this event on every year.  I'm already looking forward to next year's list, and this summer isn't even over for another three days!  Thanks again, Rinda!

Hello Elizabeth! Great job on your scavenger hunt, how fun that looks. I could have helped you with the cards photo, I play with the little ones each time they are here. I am a big card lover so I taught all my kids a few basic favorite games at a young age. Colt and I played 10 games yesterday and he won 9 of them, ugh. He gets so happy when he does, I don't let him win either, the kid is lucky/good is all.

WOW, you are a good packer, you can come help us when we leave for any vacations or camping. Way to go on still getting it done and doing so well. I don't know how you have the energy.

I should be able to link up for T Day, will get my post ready tomorrow since I babysit on Monday then go to bible study.
Have a good weekend. xo

Hi Elizabeth! Love your interpretations of the themes and how you photographed them, and my fave is the cake with the three flags, just great! You sure had enough opportunities for the overloaded car! Hope you are now nearly though with the work for Sally. Have a lovely weekend, take care of yourself, hugs, Valerie

Congrats on finishing the challenge! There are times when you just have to give the prompts a little help because some of them were pretty obscure. I would never have found a pole with 3 flags in my neighborhood either.

Genius idea for the flags and pole! Loved the photos and am a teeny bit appalled by the number of cars full that went to goodwill. Better there than the household tip though. Love that you laid out the PATIENCE and then played it through, to me that more than qualifies!

I love your take on the flags! Washi is the best!! The overloaded vehicle its awesome as well. Esp since all those items are going back into circulation instead of sitting on one persons house unused.

Hahaha! this is all great!
Really lovely photo of the flower, then your game of Patience, what a good idea to photograph yourself playing Patience.
Your flags on the cake made me laugh like anything, and wonderful to get all that stuff out of the house (and into Sally's brand new car!).
Now I'm going to have a game of Freecell as I had forgotten about it, and maybe after that find some things to go to the Charity shops (what we call Freewill).
Thanks for an entertaining post.

Great photos for the scavenger hunt. That's some full Sally car and I know there were many more trops. How many of those cakes did I eat as a kid, too many to count.xox

Now that's some creative car packing! No corner left empty there!

The flag pole was one of my trickiest to find too ... Rinda does like to make us work through our summer doesn't she?

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.

Well done on finishing the hunt. I absolutely love your overloaded car. That's exactly the kind of thing I had hoped to find (and didn't!)

I'm very impressed with the haul to Goodwill! And your interpretation of three flags is great! I thought that was the hardest one of all this summer.

I thought about doing this challenge, then life got in the way and I never completed it. Love your photos! That cupcake with the flags really looks yummy too!

Clever choice for the flags! And WOW - 11 trips to Goodwill - someone is doing some major decluttering!

Brilliant glad . Very clever. Are you sure you couldn't get a bit more in that car?

Super collection of photos. I like the creative thinking that resulted in the flag photo.
(thanks for commenting on my photos)

I like your workaround for your flagpole! And the card game ... I am afraid I just gave up on the former and popped in a substitute :(. You would make a great Personal Organiser that those decluttering skills.

Well done with getting them all. Your flags made me laugh out loud.

I love your creativity in getting these prompts ticked off. I really need to channel your decluttering vibe, but I am just not feeling right now! Thanks for your lovely comment. You're absolutely right, it's always fun to take part in the hunt.

PS I was about to leave my # and then realised I'm not here commenting on WOYWW!
