Dreams are seldom black and white, part 2

I actually remembered I had company coming today, so I will be gone the entire day, cooking on the grill and in my chiminea.  It'll be a hot time, especially now that the temps have cooled to a decent level of the high 70s F (mid 20s C).  I love to grill, and I hope to remember to take a few photos, too.  But for now, let's return to "Dreams are seldom black and white."

When we left off with part 1,

the page on the right is the first one in the second set of signatures.  I know it's hard to believe, but I actually stamped the lily on the right.

This is what you see when you first open to these pages.

Flip back the envelope, and you get a place to hide some thoughts.

Flip back the postcard, and you see this.  All these things came from my stash, although I occasionally am gifted with bits and pieces of decorated/scrapbook paper which I use as soon as I receive it.

This is the last page in the second set of signatures.

These pages are made using anything I find paper wise.  I seem to have accumulated a ton of images, books, magazines, and old postcards I can draw from to add to these pages.  If I color a page, I do so with dye, distress, or solvent ink, not paint.  I once ruined a Zig marker on a page in my calendar because I tried to write over paint, so I don't ever want anyone to suffer the same fate.

Only the covers are fabric.  The pages are all sewn paper on paper only.  I do this because it's hard to write on fabric.

Thank you for looking and commenting on these journal pages.  Your comments mean the world to me.

Finally, I want to remind you to dig up your Second on the 2nd, a post that can be about anything you want to share with others so they/we can have a second (or possibly first) look, too.

I like that lily stamp on the first page. Umm I spotted the Australian flag too.

oh my, what a Labor of art - let alone scanning all those pages! you will have the most beautiful Journal to write in! and for writing fabric really isn´t apt, good to make only a Cloth wrapping.

i already set up my second on the second on schedule, so i don´t Forget it again. thanks for reminding!

Well, I went through this three times, and still feel like I missed a lot. So many interesting things to see and read. What a labor of love to stitch on every page.

Yes, the alcohol in the makers makes a mess of the painted pages and the markers get ruined. Very thoughtful of you NOT to include painted pages.

Wow! This is a lot of work, Elizabeth! But it is so beautiful I'm sure it was worth every stitch! Do you go in and add journaling or other things to the pages or do you leave them in this beautiful state as they are? I have a sewing machine and have stitched just a few things. I just can't seem to get into the stitching when I barely have time to add paint--which I really like doing in any random or structured format. Gotta do the paint! Hee hee!
