What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 317: The one with shameless self promotion

Before you turn away, please be aware, I've already made sure this is an appropriate post by confirming it with our desker Queen Julia at Stamping Ground.

Back on our 6th anniversary post, I explained that WOYWWendy was celebrating her sixth birthday, because she was "born" just prior to the 1st WOYWW anniversary.

Now that you've seen this week's rocker and a spread I'm creating for Canada Day (July 1), I want to draw your attention to

a blog hop I host every month on the 2nd.   The rules are simple.  This is a post that you are especially fond of or was posted before your blog received lots of comments (unlike how it will today).  I would like to invite you to join this fun event.  It's only once a month and I post at MIDNIGHT CDT, or GMT-0.   Those of you who live in the UK and parts of Europe will know that is 6 am your time.  Any post is acceptable, and there's a linky tool so you won't get overlooked.

Again, I welcome you to join in, because I'm sure you'll find something you'd love for others to see.  And of course, we'll be by to visit, because it's a reciprocity thing.

So what does this have to do with Wendy?

My Second on the 2nd post will explain how Wendy was born and why.

Be aware, Wendy likes hanging out on Wednesdays and will also take center stage this Thursday.

Now that you've read my pitch, I hope you'll join us this week.  You'll find a link on my right sidebar.  And, if you are coming from Julia's, please leave your number, although when I played two weeks ago, I was able to visit everyone.

Came back to answer your question, it "only" got to about 30c yesterday but will be higher today, but we don't get it often and homes don't have AC and nor does my office!

Can't guarantee I will be there (hop) but I hope to be - this old memory of mine keeps taking a vacation! Lovely to see Wendy and the red rocker.
Saw your comment on Helen's blog - we have had temperatures of around 30 (on tv it said it was near 40 in the centre court of Wimbledon) which may not be hot by some other countries' standards but we just are not ready for it ie no air con. Trouble is it is not consistent. The other week we had two lovely days (early to mid 20's) and the day following and one following that it was like winter again. Crazy weather!
Anyway, you and Bleubeard stay comfortable in the heat you have - give hi his tickle from me.
Hugs, Neet 18 xx

Awww. She looks so cute! I'll be sure to tune in and see that. Might even take part too. Now for the Gelli® plate problem - two things to note. One is that there is no right or wrong side. If the top has a circle that won't go away, flip it over and use the back side instead. You might find that a light wave of a hairdryer over the surface eases out the dimple - my thoughts on that are that if the one side is "ruined" by the dimple anyway, as long as you are sensible and don't keep the dryer on high , very near the surface, it has to be worth a go.

:)

Happy WOYWW!

Looking forward to the special Wendy post -- I so love this face ... it's the face of the Italian opera singer Lina Cavalieri, the muse of Piero Fornasetti- I found out recently..
always wanted to know who she was...

There is nothing shameless about self promotion when it brings promises of pleasure to others; and learning about Wendy's beginnings will be a pleasure to read :o))

Nice to meet Wendy, I hadn't seen her before. She is beautiful and very artistic. Apparently she is an opera singer (Susi posted this).
I hope the new bloghop goes well. I will certainly make time to have a peep and read Wendy's story.

Have a great week,

i am not sure to what blog hop you are referring as I do not recall most of them. I think the old brain has compartmentalized and once i do recall something i can recall a lot. then I leave that compartment and wham I have forgotten. You are always so unique ineverything you create.

SOC is quite a challenge and I try to make it brief and fast, this week it fell out of bed!!!!

Gosh I find it hard enough to do Wednesday and T for Tuesday but I will always keep it in mind to participate as I love seeing what others are doing and creating or whatever they talk about. I think this desk hop/blog hop thing is wonderful and just to think as little ones we had pen friends whom we wrote too.

Love the rocking horse this week. Sorry at this stage I am only visiting as I haven't had time to do desks.

Hugs Eliza

I visit my own 'oldies' on my blog on a regular base and sometimes am amazed by what I wrote myself! I played along with Seth Apter's 'buried traesure' too... I may go hunt another interesting blogpost down today and add my link to the list... but first I need breakfast and coffee, so I'll do that later! Have a great day and a hug from Holland, Marit #25

It's so good to see Wendy out and about : D. Belated Happy Birthday to her! I'm also too late for the 2nd, but will write it down for next month. Hoping that works, the little grey cells don't always put everything together as I would hope, even when I see it right in front of me lol. Belated WOYWW.
