Journal 52, Week 23: Small Successes

Over at Journal 52, Chelle prompted us to think about small successes we had made for Week 23.  I thought back about the week I'd had and thought of all the small things that made a big difference in my life.

Here are the small successes I have accomplished this week.

I began by adding my handmade shimmering mists to the used file folder that was my substrate.  Computer generated words on red paper were added to show that small successes lead to big accomplishments.

One of the things I accomplished this week was to eat healthy salads, which are in season.

Possibly my happiest moment was when I fixed my sewing machine.  Some of you may have read yesterday that the problem I was having with my machine was my new needle, which I had not installed properly.  When I had it all the way in the holder, everything sewed great again.  Of course, I'll probably be fidgeting with the tension until I get it back to "normal," but the way I sew, it doesn't really matter that much.  "23" denotes the week number.

I have been purging clothes in my closet and gave away three outfits I'll never wear.  I know I've only started, but it was a good feeling to know I had accomplished something, no matter how small.

I save a lot of minutia I keep thinking I'll add to my scrappy journals.  But of course, I pass them over every time, so they are now finding their way into the recycle bin.  Sad, but true, if they are not good enough to use in my scrappy journals, they are truly ready to be disposed of.

These small successes may not seem like much in your world, but they have done wonders in mine.

Materials used include a used file folder, handmade shimmering mists, magazine images, a rubber stamp, a circle punch, stickers, painted and punched stickers, and part of an envelope.

EDIT: Susi. who is one of the owners of Art Journal Journey thought I should add this to their Masculine/Feminine challenge because these are women's successes.  So, Susi, your wish is my command.

Thanks so much for visiting, and as always, I am most grateful for any and all comments.

I have been doing a bit of purging of crafty stuff too that I know I'll never use. I brought a bag to craft club and got rid of it!

Another excellent page. I like the idea behind this and know it is something I should do too - purging clothes and craft supplies are the main ones.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend Elizabeth :o))

You had a really successful week I think! And congrats on figuring out how to fix your machine. I love becoming empowered whether it is something big or something small.

I love the energy of this page and the words in red Elizabeth! I would say missions accomplished on many ends. I tend to do things little by little as you do and agree that any small accomplishments become bigger accomplishments:)

None of these sound like small accomplishments to me.
Yay you !!!
I applaud you doing all that and making art too.
Whenever I get to digging through my STUFF it throws me off creating...either that or I get creating again and it stops my sorting.
All my fault for letting things get so out of hand here.
Great piece you created E
