What I did when I should have been playing over the past week (part 1)

This post would be so long you would get very, very bored if I showed it all at once.  That's why I'll show it in two parts.

Before I ever left town, I stopped by the Sewing Center where I have always purchased my needles in the past.  My friend Sally told me they were out of business and the building was empty.  I took her word for it, and didn't bother checking.  However,  I had to drive right by the building, so I decided to investigate, because there were lots of cars sitting in front.  Not sure why all those cars were there,

but I was glad I checked.  Now I know they have merely moved, and to a much better location, too.  I'll go there one of these days.  No need to find pen and paper to write the address, when my camera can take a photo of it.

Next, I was off to Kathy's,

who of course, wanted to go out to eat and shop as soon as I got to her house.

Yes, Kathy loves to shop.

For a minute I thought she was going to buy one of those rockers for her front porch.

Instead, she got interested in clothing.

and beautiful things to hold your jewels.

Instead, she tried on one of every color top (and a few bottoms) in the store.

While I waited,

I took lots and lots of photos.

I even did a bit of shopping of my own when I purchased a set of wind chimes you can't really see in this photo, but you might be able to see the pineapple that sits on top.

Beautiful spring and summer colors and styles

and of course all the other souvenirs, too.

I hope to remember a few of these in case I want to use them in my scrappy journals.

I laughed when I saw this one.  Yep, it doesn't take much to make me smile.

Even though the child's back was turned to the camera, I wasn't about to take any chances.

I swear I thought these were rocking horses until I had a closer look.

It was at this time my batteries were exhausted, so I headed to the car to replace them.  When I returned, I couldn't get my camera to work.  So, there are no photos of our lunch, or the lovely dining area where we ate next to a HUGE fireplace that might have provided ambiance had it not been a very, very warm day.  I was so worried about my camera, I barely ate more than a few bites.  I took the rest in a go box to Kathy's.  Now that I've piqued your interest, I'll be back tomorrow with something other than shopping.  Until then, enjoy the shopping Kathy and I did at The Cracker Barrel, which is definitely a chain.  I suspect if you've seen one, you've seen them all, although this was my first time visiting one, since there are none in Wichita.

Oh I do love shopping with you and Kathy! As for your first comment -no matter how long I had to keep on scrolling down I swear i would NEVER get bored with your posts! Glad you have found where your sewing centre has moved to - Indian Hills sounds like a great address! Now what I want to know is - did Kathy buy a top - they do look lovely?! I am going to work backwards from here as I'm sure I've missed lots! Thank you so much for your kind comments yesterday - I feel exactly the same - so glad we 'met'! I really do value your friendship! Planning to write to you soon - maybe while we are away! We leave at 9.30 Tuesday morning BTW (while you are sleeping!) so bit more time for crafting yet (although I have my TIOT posts to prepare)
Looking forward to part 2, Hugs, Chrisx

I actually rather like shopping at Cracker Barrel more than I like eating there! a fun assortment of photos, and I had to smile when you said Kathy tried on clothes...and the fireplace always looks inviting, but we've never gotten to sit near it in the winter season. looks like your trip was lovely ♥♥♥

Interesting and varied shop. I love the "free weeds" sign too.

One could browse in that store for quite awhile and finds lots of useful AB quotes as you did! I hope (assume) you got your camera up and running again so, looking forward to seeing more of your trip.

We have a Cracker Barrel not too far away but have not been there. The only time we visited one was while we were on vacation somewhere or other. I had no idea that they had shops this extensive attached to them. I'll have to stop by our and see if it is the same.

I'm not much of a shopper but this place looks like they have something for everyone. I like the Free Weeds sign a lot.

Cracker Barrel was my MIL favorite places to eat and shop.....mostly shop :) She would wonder around there for hours if we let her. I can't go there without remembering her there.

There's a Cracker Barrel here, and it looks exactly like that! It's an experience, even if it is a chain. The food is always good, too. I'm glad you got to go.

What a fabulous shop to visit. I do love a shop with a wide variety of things to look at and it all looks pretty good from here. I do like those tops that Kathy was looking at.
Looking forward to the next instalment, and to seeing your ICADs.
Thank you for your kind words about my migraines. It is a relief when I get a break from them :o))
Have a lovely weekend Elizabeth :o)

I've never been to the cracker barrel. Mr. G has in Milwaukee WI and said he'd never set foot in one again. Guess I won't be going to one very soon. :)
Sorry I've been so absent lately...just really busy.

I'm with Chris, never bored by your photographic tours. Love the clothing colours...I can imagine the time it takes to browse a store like that. Mr D would be asleep in a rocker within minutes!

I love stores like that but I almost never buy anything in them. It's visual candy but not enough to entice me to buy. Funny, the abundance makes me want to walk away. xox

That Cracker Barrel is loaded with good things to browse! And they have that old-fashioned candy you can't find many places, like Sky Bars. Fun start to your visit.
