Keys please

Today I thought I would try to class up a few keys.

I grabbed a few shapes and decided which ones "spoke" to me.

These are the ones that spoke the loudest.

I realize I need a few more bits of bling, but here is what I came up with today.

I removed backings because this one was an earring in a former life.

This one was a pin,

as was this one.

I attached each bit of bling

using E6000, my go-to glue for heavy duty jobs like these.

I hope this inspires you to look at your old keys a bit differently, too.

Today is Day 9 of 22 leading up to bEARTHday, where I recycled five keys and various pieces from my junk jewelry drawers.  Now I need to scrounge through my stash to find some backings so I can turn them into pins.  I hope to turn a couple into necklaces, too.

Once again, I greatly appreciate you taking time to visit and check out what I'm recycling.  Thanks also for your amazing and wonderful comments.  Speaking of comments, please be aware, as usual, if you ask a question in the comments section, I will return to YOUR BLOG to leave the answer.

Oh lovely job E! They look fabulous and I have a heap of old keys that I don't think belong to anything anymore so could at least make them into something pretty!

Hello! WOW, these are amazing and beautiful!! What a surprise to see what you were planning with these keys, I thought you were going to trace them for something. LOVE LOVE THEM!!

I read your posts below and WOW again. The beads look like those candy dots you buy on strips. What a great idea with them, I have buckets of these beads, will have to melt them down. YAY!

Your cupcake wrapper turned out so SWEET!!

Love this month of April and your wonderful ideas. Keep going friend, your doing great!!

I really like this recycling project--great idea to turn them into pins and necklaces, too.

Thanks for answering about the pony beads--I see that now. Somehow I never remember to enlarge photos!!!

I can see these selling well at craft fairs as pins, necklaces, or even rings. I love these!

You must find a craft fair :)

Just popped back to say Thank You for a lovely time!! One question - please do tell what the bird was in your garden - or was it one of those cardinals again? Hugs, Chrisx

I just gotta say....OH MY GOSH!!! What a great idea! I wish I had all the house keys and car keys I have tossed over the years! I originally started saving them intending to make a wind chime out of them...you know for the memory of every house etc...but ended up never keeping them in the right spot so I didn't loose them. And now that I have bought my home and won't be moving again and paid off my car and won't be buying again...Guess I'll just enjoy yours!
