Journal 52, Week 14: Sweet Treats

I wasn't sure how I was going to fulfill a recycle, repurpose, renew type post when I had Chelle's Journal 52 Week 14 prompt to deal with.  But Chelle's prompt fed right into my ability to recycle (and something more than just my used file folder).

The only things not recycled on this page are the ink I used on the background, the pen I used to write the words, and the silver leafing pen I used to write the week number.  Everything else, including the used file folder, were originally destined for the trash.

A few step-out photos show I used only candy wrappers and holders that were not supposed to be saved.

I wasn't terribly original when I wrote the sentiment, which reads "It's time for Sweet Treats."   I liked both the graphics and the matching colors of the Dum Dum and Tootsie Pop wrappers.

Because many of us will celebrate Easter this Sunday, I grabbed an old button cover and added it to the page.  It also signified that Easter is a time when we buy lots of sweet treats.

The week number got paired with a used peanut butter cup wrapper.

Much of this is a chocolate lover's journal entry.  All that's missing is the chocolate Easter bunny!

One final look at my Sweet Treats and this entry is ready to go into my 3-ring binder.

Thanks as always for your wonderful comments and support.  No tutorial today, but you can see that for Day 4, I recycled an old used file folder, and several candy wrappers or holders that anyone in their right mind would have thrown in the trash.  Says a lot for my mind, doesn't it?

A yummy fun page. Hope you enjoyed the sweet treats over time and not all at once. And with help from friends as I'm sure Bleubeard and Squiggles didn't help. Huggles, me and the Girls

I like your page! Always love to recycle or reuse things, so this looks really good to me! Hadn't really thought about the Tootsie Pops & Dum-Dum wrappers having cute graphics before so I thank you for bringing that to my attention. Hope you get your chocolate bunny tomorrow :)

I used to love tootsie pops when I was a child, and I can't resist good chocolate even now! Thanks for a sweet walk down memory lane without the calories!

Oh! I love the idea of sweets called Tootsie Roll - not for me of course - although i did have a little cream egg from my Granddaughter over Easter!! This page looks as though you had saved these especially Elizabeth - a brilliant collage!! Chrisx
