It's been awhile since I worked in my 7 Continents altered book (AB) and I needed a break from my Kings and Queens AB. I felt the distraction would put me back on course for the next round of Kings and Queens. Since I've been working in my 7 Continents AB since 2004, even before the word "blog" ever entered my mind, this is possibly my longest and most extensive project ever.
Today we're headed to Cordoba, which, as shown in a 1952 Encyclopedia was the third largest city in Argentina. 
Now, however, Cordoba is the second largest city, surpassed in population only by Buenos Aires. 
The San Martin Cathedral is located in San Martin Square.
An estancia is a large, rural area, located on many acres in the pampas, similar to a vast ranch in the US.
Pampas are low lying grasslands, located in the fertile, temperate South American lowlands, especially around Cordoba and Buenos Aires. It is there you will meet Gauchos, or residents of the pampas who are the main workers on an estancia. These skilled horsemen herd cattle and sheep all year long. They are famous for the breeches and blouses they wear, and the caffeine rich yerba mate they drink. Gauchos (similar to the North American cowboy) are loved, respected, and honored in Argentina.One final look that puts it all together. Colored images are from various travel magazines, B & W image from a 1952 Encyclopedia, and definitions are from a Spanish to English dictionary. Background is glitter paint through a punchinella (sequin waste) stencil, and arrows are from 7Gypsies.I hope you enjoyed this trip to Argentina and learned a bit about this area as I did. Hello Elizabeth! I've caught up here and enjoyed every post. You never run out of ideas or supplies do you, amazes me so much! The quiltlet you made is sweet, great job on it and the winner is very lucky to have it.
I did remember to turn back the clocks, yay for more daylight. The weather is slowly warming and thawing all the ice/snow we have. Still can't go out much but maybe next week at this time we can. Poor Lucky is missing our walks as much as I am. Can't wait to see the grass again, it's been over a month now of only snow. How is the weather there? How are you feeling? Hope good on both! Wonderful page on Cordoba! The arrows were a fun way to draw your eyes around the page. I thought the horses were gorgeous!

Very cool page. My mom traveled to Argentina back in the 60's. Seems strange to think of her as a world traveler.
I love reading your 7 Continents AB, and I think Argentina would be a very interesting place to visit.
