WOYWW 292: The one with the winter wonderland

I haven't played at Julia's weekly WOYWW in a long time, but many of you are my friends I want to reconnect with now that this is a new year.  However, I've been sick for nearly two weeks, but feeling better, so hope to make it around to everyone as time permits.

This is what my world looked like at about 2 pm today, after the snow that fell Saturday night and Sunday morning.  Don't let the sunshine fool you.  Even after nearly three days, the snow and ice are still hanging around.

Since it's too cold to work in my craft room for any length of time,

and because I know you really only came to see the rocking horse I have chosen to show today,

this is possibly my smallest.  For those of you who aren't familiar with US currency, that is a five cent piece (nickle) I compared the rocker to.

If coming from Julia's please leave your number, so I can find you easily.  Happy first WOYWW of 2015, dear friends.

Your area looks exactly the same as mine here.. snow around and we have minus 8 degrees celsius this morning ...brrr....
What a nice little horse thi sis!It reminds me on Murano ..as I visited Venice many, many years ago .. my granny Marie had a big collection of Murano glass things --but there is no single piece left..I don't know what we did with the little glass menagerie...
I am glad to hear that you are feeling completely well again dear Elizabeth! Happy WOYWW !

Oh Elizabeth, how lovely it is to see you back in WOYWW! I'm sorry to hear you've been ill though, hope you're well on the way to recovery now.
It looks beautiful out in your garden, we haven't had any real snow to speak of but seem to be on the receiving end of weather bombs, extreme low pressures that come barrelling across the Atlantic. Poor old Scotland and Northern England really take the brunt of those.
that rocking horse is so cute....what skill it must take to create something so tiny in glass!

LOL! The presence of a nickel on your blog confused me! Happy to see you back after a while and hope you are feeling fine and ready for a new year of WOYWW. You've been missed. to be fair I wasn't over the moon about the book either but it was a gift and would never say that where it might be seen :) I do like her style but that particular book leaves me a bit cold. Ah well, it's the thought and all that.... :)

Happy First WOYWW of 2015!

THat looks lovely - but I think the blue skies are what make it! Grim and grey here and thankfully no snow. Sweet rocker, that really is a diddy one! Hope you are back in top form very soon, Hugs, Cindy #44

How fab to see you're on the list and read that you're feeling a little better, gosh it's taken some time. I'm not fooled by the sunshine. As grey and dull as it is here, and as much as I miss such lovely light, I don't want the cold or the ice and snow it brings. No sir.
That glass rocking horse is tiny...how clever.

Glad to read you are feeling better! The snow has been beautiful, but oh this cold is just so...so...well, cold.

Have a great day Elizabeth and pet Bleubeard for me.

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Its almost impossible to imagine snow when we are positively melting away over here. Luckily we just had a very welcome thunderstorm that cooled it off a little.
Love your little rocking horse.
Happy WOYWW!

That is just the sweetest little rocking horse. It reminds me of a collection of tiny glass animals that my Aunty had, when I was a little girl.
Thank you for your kind comment on my cards this morning. No die cutter required though, just a couple of punches and a paper trimmer to cut the card to size.

Sorry you're freezing, luckily houses in Finland are built to stay warm even though it's cold outside, but I know thats not the case everywhere :) we have -10, but no snow... Wanting to say thanks to you Elizabeth, because googling for altered book tutorials led me to your blog ( and a good tutorial) and to wondering what this woyww business was about.

No snow here, but our low last night was like 9F or some equally horrid number. It hardly seems right that it's that cold _without_ snow :( Your snow is lovely :)

What a cute little rocking horse. I admire your collection.

I'm glad you are feeling better after being ill. Welcome back!
Love you snow photo. It's so pretty isn't it, but not so nice when you live in the snow.... (Here is southern Spain it's still very sunny and nice enough to eat outside everyday.)
Not what you want to hear... sorry...
That glass/crystal rocking horse is so cute. I bet it's old.
Have a great week,

Hi Elizabeth and Bleubeard, Happy WOYWW.
Thanks for visiting me. I have probably had those pencils 8 years at least now, and it was my son who dropped them and didn't tell me immediately (um I don't know if it mattered but I dropped your parcel the other day - YES IT DID SON). I was actually taking it up with the seller - then I found out and couldn't really continue to blame her.
Anyway Nikki C just gave me a great tip about microwaving them and I am going to try that, nothing to lose, how amazing that someone has come up with this after all this time, and I never thought of it!

I love your snowy photos, and I thought the little rocking horse was an ice sculpture at first.

I'm glad you are feeling better, and I bet Bleubeard is curled up somewhere warm.
