Let's play a game for Friday Smiles 92

It's Friday Smiles at Annie's A Stitch in Time and I want to play a game.  When you were a child I'm sure you played the game

"Find what's different in these photos."  This one was taken yesterday morning,

while the rest were taken this morning.  Other than an increased influx of fallen leaves, what things do you see that are different?  One thing is, I cut many small trees from around the front of the porch and added them to my compost wheel barrel.  Doesn't the front of the house look better, now?  But the most important thing is

the new door my friend Scott and I hung.  Looks like I need to clean the white paint on my siding, too, but for now I'm smiling because I love my new gifted storm door.

One thing you probably couldn't see from the panoramic view were these herbs I brought to the porch so they could overwinter with a marginal bit of protection.

Be sure to stop by Annie's for even more smiles that will start your weekend out right.

I'm also linking to AEDM,
since this is Day 7, and although this may not look like art to some, it's pure art and beauty to me.  It was also a lot of hard physical labor on my part.

Looks very nice and tidy now. Love your new storm door. We don't use them in CA, but I remember having them as a kid in ND.

Love your 'new to you' storm door, it looks great and will be a huge benefit in the cold weather. I had one put on the house in Calgary and was very grateful for it!!
Love the new look to your house, you have been very busy and it looks so much more open and airy, the house seems to stand out more... nice work!!

what a wonderful "fat" sage you have. mine doesn´t grow that beautifully. and our Family loves this quick recipe with it: boil spaghetti, then heat good native olive oil, add some chopped sage and a Bouillon cube, stir, mix it with the noodles and done! good for the winter season, as sage is good for the throat!

and oh, elizabeth, i would feel honored to be on your blogroll, thanks for asking!

Hi Elizabeth...your new door is just great, do you have a pull down blind on the inside? And the front garden trimmed allows a better view of the house, are there garden beds there you plan to plant up?....I'd be wanting to do that...my pot collection is growing with more cuttings coming home with me. Cheers and have a lovely weekend Robyn

It took me ages to pick out what was different! It is obviously too late at night and time I was in bed! You have got a lot done the last two days and me? not so much - even missed blogging:-(

Well, in one shot the door looks like it's open and there is a dividing bar on the storm door and in the next shot it looks like the door is closed and the storm door does not have a divider? At any rate…lovely little "nest" you've made for yourself, Elizabeth!

Your Sage looks super Elizabeth
and so does that nice new storm door (we have the same style as you)!
The Washington Post Sunday Magazine has a "Second Glance" feature with two photos that look similar with subtle differences. It can be quite a challenge to find them all and I pride myself on my powers of observation ;-)
Happy Friday!

Nice door! :)

I'll be interested in updates on your herbs. I'm trying to overwinter rosemary, German thyme, and a poinsettia outside on my patio against the house. I'm hoping my pots don't crack.

I do enjoy your gardening posts :)

E - the house looks great! i noticed the door right away.

ps: thanks for stopping by my blog. the character you mentioned is actually a lapel pin with a bouncy head from a retired California politician . . . Senate Pro-Tem John Burton, but you are right he does look like the game show host Trebek.

Top of the list. You were quick off the mark this morning! Mind you, if I could learn to use one word instead of ten every time, I could probably post a lot earlier too!
What an attractive home you have, and all the better for the new storm door. I hope the little herbs over-winter safely. Kate x

Storm door do make a world of difference :) Everything looks all nice an tidy now... mine is very slow to get there this year. With my back I can only do so much at a time and we don't let the Hubs near the flowerbeds he pulls everything up... By spring it should be ready LOL! Have a great weekend!!!.

Hello and Happy Friday Smiles!! WOW, there is a lot to smile about here and your posts below. I LOVE LOVE seeing your garden/outdoor/plants anything from outside. You also have the cutest house, would love to sit on the porch and have tea with you.
How nice to see all the pretty green everywhere now that winter is almost here. It's gorgeous and so green.
Nice job on all the weeding and taking out old stuff. Looks great and ready for winter. More ready then we are, lol.

How awesome that Scott figured out the internet issue, YAY!! So happy for you, I know it's great when that works out. I don't always plug ours back in good enough either, they are tricky to do.
I have a new post up, first two days of WITL, decided to break it up a bit so not to long.
Happy weekend and hope your staying warm, it is cold here.

I love these photos of a real American house and garden! Yours is so beautiful Elizabeth, I hope your storm door keeps you cosy this winter! Our flat is so warm since we had new doors fitted-hopefully lower heating bills!! Hugs Chrisx

I would love to have a veranda like yours, so I could hang quilts on in the summer and decorate for Christmas.
Great work.
