Day 16 meets T Stands For Tuesday

Last Tuesday's post worked out so well, I created this piece early to link Leslie Saeta later, so the regular T crowd doesn't have to scroll down to find the T Stands for Tuesday post.
Here is my offering for Day 16 of 30 abstract paintings.  It's supposed to be a cup, but I got a bit carried away and painted the right edge of the cup too far up.  That's when I thought I'd add the extra swirl.  Although I like the background, I wish I'd dripped some water down the cup while it was still wet, because this looks more like a child's drawing than an abstract.

Somehow I didn't remember there were two handles on this.   Obviously, it is NOT a tea cup,

but I have one that nearly matches!

At least you can see how my mind actually imagined this drawing.  BTW, there is lots of texture in this piece that didn't show up on the scan.   I'm calling this one "The Tea Cup."  Size is 8" X 10" (20,32 cm X 25,4 cm).

Now it's your turn.  Show us something drink related, whether it's the beach, your garden, your day out and about, your favorite pet, paintings, mixed media, scrapbooking, or your favorite mug or cup and saucer.  Link below and Bleubeard and I will be by to visit, as will other T Stands for Tuesday participants.  As always, Bleubeard is here to remind you that your photos can be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.

I am very impressed with your abstract cup art Elizabeth. The background is very good. And I think that your little teacup is ever so pretty with it's wee roses. The two handled one is very unusual, it reminds me of a Scottish Quaich, used for celebrations. Happy T day :D

I love the background texture and colour. Abstract art is difficult for me but you did awesome...I can see the teacup!

Your abstract cup reminds me of early Picassos where he was trying to show all sides of an object at once. Great!

Oh you're so good, I love the double handles...and why not! I think the real thing is possibly a Bon Bon or rock sugar dish! isn't it lovely.
So enjoying your arts.

What is that two-handled piece called? I don't think I've ever seen a 2-handled footed cup before. Very interesting. And such a pretty pattern! :)

Hi Elizabeth...well you said you wish you could paint people like me and I wish I knew how to play with all the different mediums like you. So we're even I would say. :)

So glad you and Sally made it to the art fair in Bradley. I did go on Saturday for about an hour. All I bought was a spoon rest from one of the pottery artists there. I can't remember his name but he puts leaf impressions into his work.

Have a great day Elizabeth!

Hello and Happy T Day! Your painting is perfect for today. I like that you didn't start over and made this work for you and today's theme. Great colors and painting even if it's abstract.

Saw the one below and love it and the name too. So glad you will continue painting, they are so good and make me smile.

You will have to rest in October to get ready for AED in November, maybe you could do more of these!!

I'm linked up with something warm and it's not tea. Have a wonderful day and happy painting.

Hmmm, wondering what the lovely two handled cup is for. Reminds me almost of a chalice of sorts. Guinness sends his kitty hugs to Bleubeard. Happy T-day!

oh, those are beautiful china cups! I have never seen a cup with those double handles. love the texture on your painting too...the beauty of acrylic is that you can paint over it (after it's dry) if you don't like the handles you made. :) actually, this is a very nice study in oval shapes!

Your China is so pretty, and why can't the double handle be a cup....you can use both hands with it....LOL

Glad you liked the "Today" journal idea.

There is child-like art in all of us....embrace it!

Oh! I could use a double handle sometimes! Love the roses on the cups - with that fab painting as a background too!! Chrisx

I imagined somebody sipping a broth-like soup in the two-fisted bowl/cup--LOL! It seems too delicate for soup, though. Happy T-Day! :) Glad to be back!

Love those dishes...so delicate.
I'm super late today...but I made it.

Happy T-Day! It's been a while. So glad you are still doing it.

wow great challenge. I would love to try some abstract painting so maybe I will loosen up a bit! It's amazing what all you can do.

It feels like a cup with an infinity symbol attached. Does that mean infinite cups of French Roast? Maybe that was in your mind while you painted? Love it. xox

Thank you for your lovely comment on my painted cup Elizabeth. Yes indeed, Tracey is an inspiration. I am enjoying the learning process as much as the practice :o) x

Such a wonderful workspace! I swear you are rubbing off on my, have you seen my desk lately? Definitely more towards your side of camp than where I used to be ... though that still leaves a Grand Canyon of space lol.

I think it is a teacup, for people who are shorter (and closer to the table) and clumsy (so they need both hands to sip lol. ORRRR it kind of looks like a dainty knuckle thingy... you know that gansters used to carry but made of brass.. that's it brass knuckles, it's a Porcelian knuckle, with a tea pouch : D.

I was so excited about the porcelain knuckle I forgot to tell you how much I love your painting, and I believe you have captured the pure spirit of a friendly cup : D
