ICADs for week of July 11-17

Bleubeard wanted to get in on the ICAD action when he chose these photos.  I had to cut them from various magazines, because he's still not very good with scissors.

I had fun last week with three paint chips.  This week I chose colored copier paper to make this one.  I really LOVE these colors together, too.  All sewing, no glue.

I found the cookie label in my yard, and instead of throwing it in the trash, decided to use it in this IC.  I had planned to turn the bottom right math quiz square upright, but forgot and glued it sideways.  Oh well!

I found a picture in a book on paintings, and a saying in a book of quotes.  Then I sewed them together to make one cohesive unit.

Bleubeard and I sewed this one together.  No glue was harmed (or used) for this IC.  The birds were painted on shipping labels, then punched out.

This one started with me trying to stamp a few images onto the IC.  I didn't get the positioning right, and when I saw what I had done, thought of a title to correct (and cover up) my poor stamping.

A stamp that was too big for the IC became part of an abstract when I sewed leftovers to the background.

I hope you found at least one IC you liked this week.  Thanks for looking and thanks for joining me on this voyage that is nearly over.

Each one of your ICADs are awesome! I do really like those animal stamps. You will laugh if I told you how many stamps I have, yet I don't do much stamping either. Placement is always hit or miss for me anyway.

Pairing the house painting from the art book with the quote you found in another was a clever.

When I saw the first collage, I thought....E does "random" so well, but then I saw the credit actually goes to Bleubeard! Way to go Bleubeard!

I like them all not just one. I always enjoy the ones you sew because that's something I don't do myself.

You and Bluebeard seem to be having a lot of fun with the ICADs. I, too, like the sewn ones, and for the same reason, I own 4 sewing machines, 2 were inherited, and sew very seldom anymore.

Love all the sewn bits. I'll just have to remember these when I get my machine out to do some mending.

Elizabeth, these are all great. I loved Bleubeard's random thoughts. Your sewing is great with all those nifty colours. The Chaperone tickled me - there is nothing wrong with your stamping there. I often use that trick (add a word or a moon or something) to create balance and it is rarely planned. My favourite is the laste one because it has what I have always considered my "lucky number" given that I was born on the 5th and, well 5 really is the coolest number - LOL Again great sewing, colours and great balance with the tree stamp.

The bird card was made like so - tissue tape, then a painted background of acrylics - no stamping. Then I placed two masks, the bird and the rectangle and sponged black paint over all. I didn't like the super bright edges but I didn't want to cover up all the background, so I sponged more black paint around the edges and filled in / darkened my rectangle with a paintbrush and more black paint. I outlined my painted lines with a black marker, and the bird with a white gel pen. This could be done with any background I thought it looked cool but Renee's are way cooler than mine.

Hope your computer cooperates better - so frustrating! bye for now.

Every time I picked a favorite I liked the next one and so on. So they all get a HIGH FIVE from me!! Read thru them again and still can't pick just one, I like them each for what is one them. LOVE LOVE the stitching on them! I SO NEED TO DO THIS!

Will be sharing my SOC post in the morning and have a small post up right now.
Happy Weekend!
