Journal 52, Week 22: Traveling

Over at Journal 52 for week 22, Chelle's prompt is traveling.

Those of you who stopped by last week and saw my Mandala, read that I hoped I could use this background, which was the seepage from my Staz-on reinkers and alcohol.

Faced with this dilemma, I decided to find some images from a book I have that is called The Traveler.  I've used images from it before, but I've always fussy cut the images, rather than cutting around them.  My only embellishment was the faux stitching I made with my Uni-ball ink pen.  In a way, this looks like the sloppy stitches I would probably sew IF I hand stitched, which I don't.

Even the week number came from a page in the book.

A few fun detail shots

show how quirky the images in this book really are.

I couldn't pull myself away, even though I had run out of room on my recycled file folder.

One more look and my imaginary travel experience must come to an end.  Thank you for visiting, because I am not on Facebook or Flickr, the only places you can share group photos.

Beautiful page, I love the vintage images and the stitching goes quite well with them. I've finished my 6th page by now and hope to get them uploaded today. :)

Excellent traveling page! The blue background brought a song to mind..."off we go into the wild blue yonder..."

I think I might have liked to try that first self-propelled contraption at the top!

What excellent images for this challenge, and the faux stitching really ties it together (couldn't resist that one LOL)

It all came together so well, and you were worried about the background.
