Craft Barn 6: Flower and/or Travel

Once again I'm joining this fortnight Craft Barn challenge, where the words are Flower and/or Travel.  I chose a quote and focused on Travel, since I noticed all the DTs used flowers.  Now don't get me wrong.  I love flowers.  But I don't have one of those die cutter machines that can make them easily, so I didn't even look for quotes on flowers.  Instead, I went with

this wonderful quote by Mark Twain.

It also fits with my philosophy of standing up against biased, bitter bullies who preach their horrible, hateful beliefs.  So this quote really resonated with me.

My file folders are often larger than my scanner, which means I usually cut off the tab.  However, this week, I positioned the file folder so I could capture the "CB 6," which of course, stands for the sixth challenge.

I was hoping to show some of the shimmer from my handmade shimmer mists, but the scanner simply couldn't pick up the glimmer of the mica powders.

The details: file folder substrate, covered with various handmade shimmer mists, portions of a road map, colored paper with computer generated words.

Once again, I was able to visit everyone last month, although I cannot leave comments on those who choose to use Facebook, since I'm not a member.  However, I did look and admire those two entries.

Edit:  I was planning to get this posted on the CB blog, but once again, I can't find the link.  I'll add this post when the link is available.  My link has now been added.

I love the use of maps in collage work. Whether you make them up yourself or use preexisting ones, they add a nice element to the piece.
It is a-shame when the photo doesn't quite match what your eye sees.
Have a great Sunday!

Love the quote and the use of the maps. Scanners just can't do all of things we'd like them to do :) Even just gloss finishes do not scan well. ...but the folder looks great even if we can't see the glimmer !

Oh this is great!!! I love the map for the background for this quote....perfect!

I have both GDs tonight, get one to school in the morning and the other for the rest of the day.
Hummmm, wonder if I can remember how to get kids ready for school...LOL It HAS been a long time.

Hope to get to do T-day tomorrow and then work on the CB challenge.

I love your quote. I think it is a belief very close to my heart. As I say - I'm a very tolerant person, but the only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving such lovely comments.

Sorry it has taken me so long to stop by. This is a wonderful entry for travel. The map is perfect for the theme, and I like the concise layout on top of your inky background.

Oh I just can't get my head round your quote. First I had difficulty reading the font and then I think it is just beyond my mushed hormonal brain at the moment. Lovely use of map pages and the bright yellow too. BJ
