WOYWW 244: The one where she shows snow

Julia is our beloved head Desker and Queen of What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday.  She is also the one who sets the "rules" and keeps us on track.

Most days I show my desk only.  Today is a bit different, though.

This was taken at around 9:00 am.  Note how the overhang on my house, indicative of craftsman style houses, keeps the snow away from the foundation.

Then here is the same shot at about 10:30 am.  I can't see much difference here, but

this shot

and this one show how the snow is swirling around at around 9 am.

Look closely at the blue truck in the street, though, and you can see how the snow is starting to pile up on the vehicles around 10:30 am.

Here is a view from the front of my house at around 9 am.  It was too windy by 10:30 to take another photo from this angle.

And now let's get warm inside so you can see my worktable today.

My friend BJ was the first to try to show me the cute little rocking doodle at Google they used for Chinese New Year.  Since I don't use Google, I couldn't see it, although others did.  Of course, many of you who read my blog have seen my Chinese New Year tip-in I showed about a week ago, but I thought I could make it my rocking horse of the week, because it's too cold in this room to set up a different rocker (which is the reason most of you visit, anyway).  I hope you can see the rocking horse because it sort of got lost in the background.  The tip-in is held by the first gift I ever received from our generous host.  She sent one to every person who participated in the very first WOYWW anniversary.  What a sweetheart, and she's married to the thoughtful man who made mine.

Also on my table is some baby oil that's leaking.  I bought it at Dollar Tree and when I got it home, it was leaking.  Not sure how to correct the problem, what I'll transfer it to, but I must before I lose it all.

Usual caveat applies.  If you came here from Julia's, please leave your number.  I'll be by to visit.  And yes, I visited all but one person who left a comment last week whose blog I couldn't leave comments on.  One of these days, I'll make it around to everyone like I did in "the old days."  But until then, your number is the best way to ensure I stop by.

Oh dear, this snow looks so romantic, but it must be awful to live with!
Those cars would have frozen pipes etc.Do you have to have antifreeze in everything?

I couldn't imagine how it feels to have that snow around and how cold it must be. We don't even use a heater in winter here. Looks pretty but I guess it must make getting around really hard. Love the gorgeous fans.
Have a great week.

But where we live now no snow let alone frost...

Well now I see why you liked seeing my green grass yesterday. We've not had any snow yet this winter although we have had loads of rain and yesterday we had hail showers which made the garden have white patches for a while. So glad you got to see the Google doodle in the end must do my chinese new year page today BJ#??

I don't want to jinx it but I am SO happy to have not seen snow this year! And you so want that bottle of baby oil for Gelli plate cleaning. Really after massaging in a few drops the colour that is leeched out of the pseudo-gel is astonishing. Trust me....
Getting an early start for a change....
Happy WOYWW Day!

It has been really cold and windy here but luckily we didn't receive the snow that you guys did! I am happy about that. Too much to do and too little time to be tied down in the house. Wow! I love your new pristine white garden carpet. There's an outdoor art project on my blog which you may like if you can get out to find some twigs etc., Nah! maybe stay inside all cosy.
Are you using the oil on paper to make your own "parchment"? That's what I do. You could have mopped up the leakage with paper to save wastage.
Take care my dear if you have to go out in that white stuff.

I don't intend to spend all day at the computer dear gal...I dip in and out, really, otherwise my conscience, my boss, the VAT inspector and the insurance guys would be after me..! Yep, todays chores are quite business-y...
The snow is incredible, I hope you're warm and sound..and don't even try to clear it before the forecast says it's over. Pointless. Gotta say I love the 'craftstman style' overhang on your house, how quaint.

I love looking at snow scenes, as long as it's through someone else's window. What is it about snow that makes you want yo make pretty patterns on your lawn?
Love the artwork as well, although I had to zoom in to spot the rocking horse.

Oh; the wearing of the white! We, here, are expecting a foot by day's end. Have to admit - the fresh snow is peaceful and cleansing. I know it's not always that way.

Be safe and warm!

Good morning, Elizabeth. I am now awake, having had my porridge and a strong coffee this morning. Mr Linky just cracks me up - he definitely tells lies. By the way, I was linking through my Kindle Fire which is not as fast as the computer so that is probably why you are consistently beating me. Never mind, it is just a bit of fun anyway. I hope you are keeping yourself warm this time. Lovely photos, far more interesting that our continuous endless rain. At this rate, the whole country will be under water. My garden has several unintentional ponds in it now, and I cannot get on it to plant my newly arrived fruit bushes. Definitely a crafting day again. Take care of yourself and Bleubeard. xx Maggie #3

PS forgot to say, I don't think the glue actually has a sell by date, but some of the tubes of silicone glue are seriously hard, and they will not go through the syringes any more, so they will have to be binned, along with a lot of other stuff. xx Maggie #3

I'm glad you haven't been having too much snow this Winter Elizabeth, but I think it is nice to get a bit. When I got Sam of Busy Butterfingers to try sock knitting she emailed me right after her first session "Bloody hell! This is like knitting with embroidery thread on toothpicks"!! She's not wrong, lol!

I swear, Elizabeth, I could have taken the SAME picture out the corner of my porch! Looks almost the same, even with the dangly things! Our snow is also piling up, and our street must be on a "plow when you have nothing else to do" list, because I almost didn't make it down out street after taking my Mom out to lunch. I also have a snow picture on my blog, taken from my craft room. Only 42 days left 'till Spring!

You got a lot of snow! Hope it's not too much of a pain.

I just wanted to stop by and answer the question you asked yesterday. No, I didn't make my paper angels. They are gifts from some European friends of mine. Every year I get a new angel or two in my Christmas card, which is nice. It's fun to watch the angel choir grow; it's just one of those little details of the Christmas season that I always want to remember. Thanks for your interest. Take care!

We've got the same kind of storm here, it's falling slowly but relentlessly. So far about 10 inches.

I found the rocking horse on the card, but it took a minute. It felt like one of those games!

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the nice comments.

Happy Woyww,

Well, the snow is a surprise. All we have down here in South Devon is rain, rain, and yet more rain. I can't believe there's so much water in the sky!! Beautiful photos of the snow, and the wonderfully snow-laden sky. What a contrast, the fabulous warmth of the Chinese tag - I love the fans. Beautiful!

I've only just remembered it's Wednesday hence being No. 100 this week.

Hello! What a nice surprise to see the snow pictures, beautiful! We have tons of it here, so cool to walk in it. By tons I mean it's past my knees and too much for Lucky to walk thru it but he sure can run thru it and loves it. What a crazy winter it's been!

How pretty this is, love it! How nice that your host did one for everybody with help from hubby. I think that's a great idea and it came beautiful!!

Guess where we are going for lunch today??!! Looking forward to having some seafood and date with my hubby, we NEED it.

Thanks so much for the visit to my blog. I wish you could help my blogger too. I sent an email to them but have heard nothing. We were going to try a couple things but it would change everything and I'd loose all my bookmarks and addresses for everyone. So I'm going to start writing down all of them just in case I loose them changing things around. Wish us luck!
Take care and stay warm!
