Tea Stands for Old Photos

I mentioned last week that I was going to probably inundate you with photos I removed from my SD card before I used it in my new camera.  Well, today is no different.  However, I would like to begin by saying a few words about WORD VERIFICATION.  Even if you don't link to T today, I try to visit, at least if you leave a comment.  However, you have NO idea how long it takes to leave those silly word verifications.  They take time I don't have, especially since I have such a slow internet connection.  Unlike most people, my ISP is cheap and slow.  Many times I must plug those numbers or letters in several times before I get it right.  And the lag time, in addition to the frustration I get when blogger tells me I haven't done it right, makes me pretty miserable.  So, if you can't trust people to leave you wonderful comments, here are a few things I would like to suggest:
1) Remove "anonymous" from your choices of how people can leave comments.  That will get rid of most of the spam.
2) Use comment moderation, where you, the blog owner must approve the message before it is shown
3) NEVER use comment moderation AND word verification.  You must approve the message, why put anyone through that added annoyance?

Thanks for understanding  and changing your blog comments if you are one of those offenders.

Now let's start the party

Back in mid-December, my friend Sally took me to lunch at Red Lobster.

These photos were taken with my first Nikon camera, so I was snapping photos of anything and everything.

I didn't wait for our server to bring our drinks when I started snapping photos of my surroundings.  From flags on the wall to the menus to the decorations to watching the wait staff

and customers I simply could NOT keep out of the photos as I try to do most days, this was a photographer's dream.

One thing about Red Lobster, at least the one in my town,

they always have the date on their menu, as well as the name of their "grill master."  If memory serves me, I think Sally had the salmon, while I had shrimp scampi with wild rice.  Mine was delicious, although as soon as our meal came, I completely forgot to take photos.  I didn't even get a photo of my drink, although I captured a few on others' tables.  That was the problem (and possibly a blessing) with that other camera.  It was lightweight and easily tucked away in my purse.  My second Nikon is big, clunky, heavy, and doesn't fit in my purse or pocket.

Of course, after we ate, I remembered to take a few photos of my surroundings.  I'm sure all

Red Lobsters look the same, or similar, but this is the only one I've ever been to.

So plant your flag, show your colors, share your drink, or maybe art.  Whatever floats your boat (pun intended).  Please link to your direct post below, though.  That way we can all share in the fun of the day.

No boats floating here, still ice on the pond....I haven't eaten at one, but the decor looks pretty nice.....I will say that I am liking the new numbers for verification, so much easier than the words....Wordpress has you moderate, which I like because I can actually read them. xox

sorry, I have changed the comments on my blog.
We have freshwater wild crayfish in Australia which you see sometimes and they are Blue!

I agree. I really dislike those word/number verifications and so often I can't read them and have to try three or four times. I just moderate, only takes a second on my part.

One of my favorite places to eat any kind of fish is the Red Lobster.

I an NO LONGER leaving messages on blogs that have word/number verification. Too much hassle and I want to get around to see everybody. I don't even monitor my comments. If I don't like what some has to say I will delete it, but that has never happened.

Time for my PJs as I can hear my pillow calling my name. LOL

i'm sorry about the word verification issue. i hadn't realized what a problem it was for some people and so have now changed that setting to turn it off.

it has been decades since i last ate at a red lobster. i'm not sure where the closest one is anymore. the menu looks good.

I like the dated menu, with seafood declared fresh, that's pretty reassuring, huh. Also love to see all your pics of out and about..am beginning to think there's no such thing as a small restaurant in Wichita! nice treat from Sally, I'm enjoying all your photos, recent or not!

Happy T Day!!! Oh my goodness, this one is making me very happy and ready for Red Lobster. My hubby and I go a few set times each year and we are way past due for our New Years date for lunch there. We are hoping to go this Thursday and if not VERY SOON!

I love how pretty it is there, looks just like ours. We have gotten lucky to go on the days a certain waiter is working. He remembers us and treats us so well. Our cups are never empty and extra biscuits for us. I'm surprised you didn't mention them, did you get them? Do you like them? Our Wal-Mart actually has a box kit to make them and now we eat them at home too. YAY!!

This is where we go for lunch dates while the kids are at school. We have one that's between home and where Rich works. We meet there for lunch and he either goes back to work or we plan ahead and he takes a half day vacation, YAY!!!
We use a coupon we get the Sunday mail too and always get the same thing. I get the pick your lunch, so yummy shrimp scampi and fried shrimp for me and the sailors platter for Rich. Depending on our finances at that time we either get a Shrimp Cocktail to split, or one for each of us or none at all. I swear they used to be only $5 when we started going there years ago. Can't believe the price has gone up so much on them.

I also love how their plates, always changing them and always colorful and fun!!

Anyhow we try to go 3x a year and some years a few more if we can squeeze them in.
Sorry for the book again, I could write even more though, like my sister worked there years ago and that's what got us hooked on it.
But, I think this small book is enough, lol.

Have a wonderful day my friend!!

I've only eaten at Red Lobster once and that was years ago and we were out of town. I'm not even sure there is one in our area. Being beside the Bay we do have lots of choices for seafood restaurants though.

Happy T Tuesday!

I pretty much live on fish so this is making me hungry! Haven't been to a Red Lobster in a few years. I usually prefer to do my own cooking and we get to enjoy a fab lobster dinner with friends each summer at the beach. I wish it was beach weather...

You've got that right about the robot as I call the verification stuff...I do find the numbers much easier than those blurry words BUT it IS such a pain...thank you for spelling it out clearly as to how to make things run more smoothly E...

Nice nautical decor at your Red Lobster...it has been a long time since I've been to one...

Happy T Day to ya

We have two Red Lobster's in our area and sometimes go for a special birthday or other occasion meal. Both of them are next door to an Olive Garden, and I wonder if it is the same with yours.

Can't say weather the decor is exactly the same, but nautical for sure!

Happy T Day!

I haven't been to Red Lobster in years!!
Thanks for the little blurb about word/number verification...it totally sucks to have to do that on blogs!!
Happy Tuesday!!

I love Red Lobster--esp. the biscuits and I am a crab fiend so when that is up for grabs I am always there!!

I too HATE word verification and have all but stopped commenting on those blogs that have it. I think your suggestions are more than enough to deal with unwanted spam or assholes that come-a-knocking. It takes too much time and I want to leave as many comments as I can, you know.

Have a great day Elizabeth!! I enjoyed your photo journey today very much.

Looks like a great lunch! I'm glad that you always write something about each of your photos. Your words point out details that I might otherwise not have noticed. Thank you!

I have never been to Red Lobster, this place is going to be in my want to go list now.
I think even my blog has word verification. I need to change it. Thank you Elizabeth for the suggestions, I'll try to do them.

Looks like a wonderful lunch! I haven't been to Red Lobster for so many years and it is on the top of my favorite restaurant list. Yummy. Thank you for the tour, it was almost like being there. Did Bleubeard get any leftovers?

I haven't been to a Red Lobster since I moved up here in 1999. I used to love their popcorn shrimp, but now I've been 99% vegetarian for like three years, so Red Lobster probably would not be the place for me to go anymore. I remember it looking a lot like yours.

Thanks for explaining to people about WV. My vision isn't the best and I know people who are blind or have poor vision who can't even use those crazy WVs if they wanted to. That's why I won't use them.

I hate WV!!!!! With my poor eye site I don't even try anymore ..it's just too difficult. Some how a rather large list of my favorite blog post have going straight to my spam box :( so I've spent some time this morning trying to fix all of that.

who has time to take photos when there is food to be eaten?! sorry I didn't make it to T Tuesday to join the blog hop. My Tuesdays are shaping up to be very busy... hope you can manage to stay warm with all the snow! ☺ we got another 4 inches, but glad it wasn't the 8-10 they were predicting!

Mmmmmn! When I am up to par I would like to try that place as I love fish. In fact, I just realised that it was a Red Lobster I went to in Charlottesville back in 2006. I only know for sure as they gave me the glass my cocktail came in. It looked different - all beachey themed with white washed walls, but still flags etc.
May I be excused from this week's T please? I have been a little under par this week and am only just starting to feel a little more human? Back next week as usual!
Hugs
