WOYWW 239: The one where she wishes you a safe and prosperous 2014

Julia at Stamping Ground, our awesome leader and Queen of Deskers will soon be here to help us greet the new year in What's On Your Workdesk this Wednesday style.

On my desk table are several items.  In the back is a new tree I bought on clearance.   It is glittery and the glitter gets on everything, including me.  So I'm going to find my sealer and give it a good spray before I put it with the rest of the trees.  In front, is my altered book Christmas spread which I am finishing today.  You can see a bit of the leftover ribbon and glue in the background.

Of course, I know you really came to see this week's rocking horse.  It's "Mickey and Minny's Rockin' Christmas."  It plays "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" and rocks back and forth in the process.  My friend Kathy found it at the Goodwill in my neighborhood.  It is marked "1010/15,000" and dated 1991.  I am thrilled to own it.

While Mickey and Minne rock and play, it's time to wish each Desker a joyous and safe 2014.  The same caveat applies each week: if you visit from Julia's, please leave your number so I can find you easily.  And please keep it safe, because Bleubeard and I want to see all our Desker friends in the new year!!

Hi Elizabeth actually saw a Christmas myth-busters the other day and they found the best thing to keep needles on a fresh tree was a can of hairspray!!

... so sounds like your glittery tree needs it too :D

Of course, love rocking horse and crew goes without saying. :D

Every blessing of the LORD for 2014. Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #2

Of all the weeks to be late...but nevertheless, the wish for a Happy new year is every bit as heartfelt. I I love that you have such a collectible Christmas rocking horse, that it still plays, and that you love it too. I know about the glitter.....it's part of the erm, magic of the season! Like the tree design I must say!

love this weeks rocking horse...looks like a lot of fun. My DD says that the residue from the tree is called glitter herpes for which there is no cure...I will be interested to see if your sealing works. Happy New Years and I hope your holidays were all you wanted them to be. I didn't get to share on WOYWW this week but I am looking forward to a busy and creative new year and sharing it with everyone on WOYWW in 2014! Vickie aka Okienurse
