T sTands for rooT beer floaT

Welcome yet again to T Stands for Tuesday.  When this post went live, I was not here.  It was scheduled early this morning (shortly after midnight, in fact) because I'm out and about today.

Here is where you will link your T Tuesday post. Please remember the guidelines (since I'm not into "rules") to T Stands for Tuesday.  What qualifies as a T Tuesday post?  First, as I've said before, you do NOT have to drink tea.   And, you do NOT have to photograph your image(s) on Tuesday.  You can take your photo(s) any day of the week, then link your post here, unless of course, you are playing in AEDM.

Once again some of you are confused as to why I'm posting on Monday afternoon.  As I said last week, and I quote:
Most of my internet friends live in different places than I, which is in the central time zone of the US.  In the real scheme of things time zones, this time zone is toward the end of the 24 hour day.  So, those of you who don't live in my time zone can post anytime, because the linky link went live at the same time as this post.
~ From 11/11 2013 T post
Please also remember you can talk about anything as long as you can relate your post in some way to T Stands for Tuesday.  Although this used to be called Tea Tuesday, we changed the name and updated the concept.

Today you'll find me at my kitchen table where I have most of the makings of a root beer float. It's a party I'm throwing for myself, mainly because I have wanted a root beer float for a long time, and finally got some root beer.  Seems this popular brand has been around longer than all my readers, followers, and myself put together (grin).

At one time I had four of those heavy clear glass mugs with the thick bottoms, but I gave them away, never imagining I might need one someday.  So I found this Ah Kansas glass that I thought would put a smile on your face as it does mine.

I chose the kitchen table because it is not far from the refrigerator/freezer.

Gotta love the way the root beer foams when it hits the ice cream.

I played the Miss Piggy and took a big sip before shooting the final photo which focused on the ice cream mixed with the root beer.  Now I must finish this and head to bed.  What a wonderful nightcap!!

Be sure to use a direct link to your specific blog post in the URL box. Please include T Stands for Tuesday (or something with the words T and Tuesday in it) somewhere in the post, and link back here (and to Leah, too, if playing along with AEDM).

I really love all the attention this Tuesday event has brought.  Seems like bloggers all over the globe are having a fun time coming up with ways to show a cup, mug, bottle, can, rubber or handmade stamp, stencil, etc. in their photos.  I've seen coffee and tea dyed papers, tea bags used in art, and scrapbook and journal pages that feature tea bags, tea cups, and tea pots.  And I'm having a fun time real ball seeing what everyone comes up with each week.  Thank you, all.

This is Day 19 of AEDM.
Feel free to join our little friendly group for T.  I'll be by once I get home from shopping with my dear shop-aholic friend.  I may even have a few photos to share (or not).

Hi Elizabeth - I have never had a root beer float - however we have had what we call spiders - where you add ice-cream to coke of flavoured soft drinks - I really have no idea why they are called spiders - perhaps its the way the soft drink leaves a web across the ice-cream... I prepped my post on Monday as I was so excited to share my daughters Graduation and as a result was all prepared for the early start... hope you have a great week - Mxx

Ah, A&W. Date night way back when. But my Dad, long before I was dating, used to make us homemade root beer at this time of year. We had quite the bottling operation! lol

Looks sooo good Elizabeth. But to keep the carbohydrates down I use diet root beer and a dollop of heavy whipping cream. I figured it out that there is also less calories my way too, so I get the taste of a "float" and save all the way around. My Mom was a type 2 diabetic so I try to watch some of those little things. Since that is an inherited version that runs through the women in my family. So far I've been lucky, so I keep tabs on these things.
Hope your shopping was eventful.

I meant to say that I won't be here next Tuesday for T, but will be thinking of all of you.

Hello again! :)
Regarding faux brads, good question! So, a faux brad is a domed cardboard circle. When adhered to paper, it looks just like a brad, but it lacks metal prongs. I use "Candi" by Craftwork (a British company).

I could drink this if it was made with Coke instead of Root Beer, never did form a taste for that stuff when I was a child though I did try it again when we were in Canada but decided it wasn't for me.

It's been a long, long time since I've had a rootbeer float, but I can still remember the taste. Yum. Maybe someday...

Happy T Day dear friend! I have been thinking about root beer floats all weekend, they are SO GOOD!! How funny to see this here and now I REALLY want one.
I'm glad you liked my beverage choice this week, thought that would be something different to share. It really surprised me how good it would be.
It was fun to make a mandala in the snow, just wish the wind wasn't so bad and could have had more time to work with it.
I LOVE that you post early, I'm a early bird and love getting here to see what you've shared.
Hope your shopping trip was fun, can't wait to see what you got.
Thanks for sharing your Tuesday with us. Lots of sweet posts for today, at least looking at them all doesn't add to my waistline (grin). Take care!

You brought back some old memories with the A&W root beer. I've had the canned version but I always think it tasted best from the good old fashioned drive in. They had such frosty glasses. I've heard a few of their drive ins remain but there are none in our area.

Ok! So now I am craving a root beer float and there is not a drop of root beer in the house.... I see a trip to the grocery store in my very near future ♥

I LOVE Root Beer floats! My grandma would sometimes make them for us on Sunday afternoons...if she used chocolate ice cream, it was called a Brown Cow. So fun to join your party this week! Celebrate, and happy Tuesday!

I'm not a fan of rootbeer. I do like a 7up Fizz though...that was what my dad called my 7up float. :) Makes me smile to think of it.

Thanks for the greeting from Kathy! You can tell her HI back. ;)

Elizabeth, we call them 'spider drinks' here in Australia and we use all different flavours of soft drink (soda), even Coke. :) My kids and I used to love these on hot, summer days...so refreshing!

For my fellow Aussie friends - Root beer is what we call sarsaparilla here in Australia. When I was in the States, I tried their root beer and it tastes just like sarsaparilla. In saying that, Bundaberg beer DO make a root beer, not readily available, but it's NOT the same taste as the one I tasted in the States. Sarsaparilla is the same as root beer in flavour.

I would enjoy a root beer float right about now after my second day of painting my craft room. A & W is widely available here--just love it!
The Kansas glass is perfect to take in the beauty of the foam on top! Happy T Day--I hope you enjoyed your day of shopping!

Gosh I haven't had a root beer float in ages! When my youngest son was a child that is all he wanted when we would go out to restaurants. Ahh memories.
I did have a Starbucks chocolate chai that I put on Instagram but I was out shopping all day so I didn't get to link up but I certainly participated in my own way :-)
