A day late and a computer short in Seth Apter's world

With all my computer woes, I haven't been checking any favorite blogs. I was surprised when I visited Seth Apter's blog this morning, to take a peek at his latest "playing favorites" segment.

I had completely forgotten about this piece I included to answer the question “share a picture of a favorite piece of art that you have created and explain its meaning to you.” Here's what I sent and wrote:
"I'm not sure if Her Colorful Ways is a favorite but it exemplifies how far I have come from a composition standpoint. It also shows how much I enjoy adding sewing to my mixed media pieces."
I gave this mixed media piece away during the final One World One Heart blog hop in 2011. That was the same year Seth sent out his questionnaire. In case you can't read the sentiment, it reads "She would gladly have given up her colorful ways if only they would invite her to the party." The size of this piece is 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches and is mounted on sturdy board.

I'm sorry I missed Seth's post until this morning. I consider myself lucky to have been included with so many gifted artists this week, including Angela Cartwright, Sarah Fishburn, and Amy Duncan. There were even some whose names I wasn't familiar with. And yes, I was making houses way back then, too!

Wow, what a glorious mixed media collage Elizabeth, I love it. Congratulations on the rightly deserved recognition too, well done you x.
Thank-you so much for your lovely comments on my last AB page, I really appreciate your time and input as always. I have to admit to being a little worried that you thought it was the lessons that I was 'not feeling the love' for, lol this was far from the case my lovely. My mojo has deserted me a bit at the mo as my mum has been quite poorly in hospital for the last 6 weeks and the stress and worry has gotten the better of me to be honest. I always find your lessons so informative and inspiring and I was really cross with myself as I truly felt that I hadn't really done them justice. After all the lovely comments that have been left though I have to say that I am feeling much more positive about it now, where would we be without our lovely blogger friends to buoy us along sometimes!!
Big hugs x x x x

Congrats on being featured! This mixed media piece is just Amazing! The stitching adds so much details. Oh, speaking of stitching....I didn't sew the buttons on--I glued them. Afterwards, I wished I had at least thought to thread them to make it look like they were sewed on! Thanks for your kind comments and all your encouragement!
